hi1970 - that was exactly the conclusion which some of us came to around the disasterous buyback scam, the subsequently suspicious delay in cancelling the said shares from retention ‘in treasury’ (presumably awaiting a plausible excuse for distribution among themselves) - and the unfortunate crash in the SP which then made the whole scenario an object exercise in how not to run a public company for the benefit of the shareholders.

Phew Agreement at last ! - biscuits problem seems to have been resolved in the short term ....... more importantly a formula to secure the voting tribal’s birthrights to preserve their corruption incomes has surely been reached.
My fear is Baghdad revamping the dubious legality of our PSCs.
Nationaly recognised legality to extract and market the hydrocarbons from the Kurdistan Region may now attract some serious attention from IOCs.

If the FDP ever gets approved (a liberal distribution of brown envelopes should help).
If the agreement to sell Kurdistan bbls through the marginally more trustworthy Baghdad is resolved.
If Baghdad accepts the renegade PSCs issued to the likes of us ad hoc by the tribals in Erbil (and doesn’t re-write them downwards).
If the true capacity of Shaikan ever gets disclosed.
If an IOC looking for additional bbls can swallow the risk on behalf of its shareholders of dealing with the indigenous corruption in the area.
...... then we may get into a For Sale scenario.
