I never read what the trolls write - they are all filtered, however from past experience they go on about " hindsight " re price action etc.

In fact back in late May I made several posts talking about how we were at a previous resistance level, and we needed to clear it. That was when it hit 2.3p for the third time this year.

If it had already been decided to do a raise, and had read those posts then it was a huge blunder not to trigger the raise at that moment. I presume that MB and others read what's on here ?

If it was already decided to raise prior to late May and didn't do so through misjudging the price action, then I would start to question MB's competence as a CEO. Especially when he's being paid 550k a year from shareholder's money.

He gets paid the big money in order to get those kind of calls correct.

It all depends on whether they wanted to raise at the end of May or not as to whether there was a big error of judgement re the price level.

Hamm - MB and Petrovis both have a huge amount of shares at a much higher average than where we are now. So if it was a mistake then he shot in the foot both himself and Petrovis.

MB must have at least 13m shares at 2p or above. He will be massively underwater overall on his total holding right now even after averaging down a bit.

Effectively MB ignored the 2.3p well established resistance level and instead raised at the winter support level which was less than half.

If they did want to raise in late May then it was a huge error of judgement caused by not keeping an eye on price action patterns.

Hamm - unfortunately this is what happens when people pay little attention to price action as revealed in a chart. A chart is no more than a visual representation of price movement in whatever timeframe you choose.

Like many on here, I doubt if MB pays any attention to charts, however if he had then he would have noticed that when it hit 2.3p at the end of May, it was the third time that it had hit that resistance level this year, so if he wanted to raise that would have been his best bet to do so at that moment. Any later and it was always likely that the price would reject for the third time at that level and start heading towards the previous 1.2p support level of the winter.

If they did want to raise back at the end of May then it was a big mistake not to do so at that price level, as they could have done the raise at about 1.5p.

Hopefully MB is a better geologist and CEO than he is at studying the price action of micro caps....

The fact that the raise has been oversubscribed and that yet again Petrovis have bought a large no of shares shows that the company is well supported.

Petrovis is the parent company after all - that fact is usually forgotten.

You do realise that MB has at least 15m shares by now, and most of them at 2p or more ?

And that Petrovis own something like 250m shares at an average far higher than the current share price ?

Abzzba ; I think it's all become pretty clear what's been going on now.

PC has been probably straining at the leash to put in a low ball offer. And using all kinds of dirty tricks to exert pressure - taking ages to sort out the payment terms, withholding 30% of the payment for spurious reasons ( which is still not resolved ) and very likely utilising through some kind of proxy a gang of stockbashers both on here and on ADVFN.

And the potential JV partners have probably been playing hardball too, thinking that the company has very limited options. Well hopefully $4m of extra funding or whatever the total amount is, means that MATD does have more options than they thought.

It feels like the raise was a fairly sudden decision based on how the buyout/ JV negotiations had been going. Plus probably it's been triggered by frustration with PC's tactic of withholding the 30% which seem to have been designed to tightly squeeze MATD.

ChessGambiteer - funny how you have a crystal ball to be so sure that a JV/farm in or a buyout wont ever happen.

Have you even heard of the 2005 Soco sale ? Probably not I suspect. And work out for yourself how much 33 to 50m barrels are worth - figures estimated by an independent CPR by the way.

I'm hoping that eventually the company will list on a more professional exchange than Aim - that would make a hell of a difference.

If Gazelle and/or Gobi come good and then a JV or farmout is secured, then hopefully they might be able to think about relisting somewhere else.

His self-importance is breathtaking, given his lack of financial muscle. He sounds like a typical British 30 something, who owns no property, pays most of his income out in rent, and has almost no savings. Yet he holds sway on here like he is Warren Buffett. I guess being on a board like this one is one of the only places he can find to make himself look relevant and important.

Well said Spirittfinder - the value of the assets as estimated in an independent competent person's report haven't suddenly melted away. 0.8p must now be valuing the 33m barrels of oil in block 20 at something like 20 to 25p a barrel. Or around 15p a barrel using the higher estimate of recoverable barrels given in the CPR.

The company did make a mistake through not raising at the 2.4p level which it hit three times this year. They must have been hoping for higher prices, but it was at 2.3p at the end of May, and they decided to raise when it had fallen to half of this.

I hope Adw isn't risking future rent for his bedsit with his 2K. I would hate to think that he might get evicted 😂

An mcap of 16m rather - still bears no relationship to the value of a barrel of oil.

The MMs can see the stops - and no doubt many are clustered around the 1p level.

It's the cheapest way for MMs to pick up cheap shares - the stops provide instant buying liquidity when they are hit, and the holders of the shares don't have any option other than to relinquish them if they placed the stop and it's hit.

An mcap of 15m with around 33m to 50m barrels of oil under the ground - that must be valuing a barrel of oil at around 35p !

The share price now nearly one fifth what it was at the 2020 covid peak, when the the borders were shut, there was no income or production, the staff were taking pay cuts to cuts costs and no consent was in place to access block 20....
