This is an example of Plantiffs filing for Monetary Sanctions against a defendant. If you read it it is clear it is a motion to declare wrong doing by the defendants. So, from what I can make out this is an action to be taken by FRR against Hope. We can only speculate whether or not this is an action of desperation by FRR or if Hope’s wrongdoing been acknowledged by the court hence the Plantiff ‘may’ file a brief. If so, it seems to be mirroring the Cayman findings thus far where it seemed to be acknowledged that the defendants were withholding evidence. One thing is for sure though this is a motion by the Plaintiffs, against the defendant.

No mention of FRR as yet, seems like he has the day off today. I hope the poor fella doesn’t mind having 400 odd stalkers now! ??

Scroll about halfway down for section on Frontera.

It’s certainly true....I can see it. However I’m sure these are standard timeframes. It does though tell us that more information should be available by at least that date, even if it is only the next, newly registered court document.
Hope has 21 days from the 17th of April to respond to the summons otherwise the judgement will be entered against him for the relief demanded in the complaint. So I would say this means he has approximately until May 9th to do this.
Judge Donna M. Ryu's Oakland Court Schedule can be seen in the link below, no mention currently of Frontera or Hope

I imagine, being the plaintiff's, Frontera are issuing a summons to Hope. Whether the ADR registration was just procedural or not I don't know. I was just trying to yield something from the little information we have. Interestingly the 'Nature of the Suit' is filed under - 380(Personal Property: Other).
Whether the 'Personal Property' is that of Frontera's or Hope's isn't clear.
From what I can see 5 documents have been registered so far, and they are as follows:
1. Complaint
2. Proposed Summons
3. Case assignment (to a judge)
4. Initial Case Management Scheduling Order with ADR Deadlines
5. Summons issued
Yes I am, not a small investment either!
The 5th Document in the case looks to have been generated yesterday, a Summons. The ADR was the 4th.
Summons Issued — Document #5
District Court, N.D. California
That's all I can see for now.
So....the fact that the word 'Conference' is used must lend you to think that the third ADR type is the agreed path, A 'Settlement Conference'. Here is a description of what a 'Settlement Conference' is according to Californian law:
Settlement Conferences
Governing rule: ADR Local Rule 7.
Goal:
The goal of a settlement conference is to facilitate the parties efforts to negotiate a settlement of all or part of the dispute. See ADR LR 7-1.
Process:
A judicial officer, usually a magistrate judge, helps the parties negotiate. Some settlement judges also use mediation techniques to improve communication among the parties, probe barriers to settlement and assist in formulating resolutions. Settlement judges might articulate views about the merits of the case or the relative strengths and weaknesses of the parties' legal positions. Often settlement judges meet with one side at a time, and some settlement judges rely primarily on meetings with counsel.
So a settlement....
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
Most civil cases are assigned at filing to the court's ADR Multi-Option Program. The goal of the program is early, cost-effective and fair resolution of civil cases. Through that program, or by direct referral from the assigned judge, the court offers three separate ADR processes:
• Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE)
• Mediation
• Settlement Conference with a Magistrate Judge

Initial Case Management Scheduling Order with ADR Deadlines
Document: 4
Initial Case Management Scheduling Order with ADR Deadlines: Case Management Statement due by 7/24/2019. Initial Case Management Conference set for 7/31/2019 01:30 PM in Oakland, Courtroom 4, 3rd Floor. (cjlS, COURT STAFF) (Filed on 4/16/2019
Looking at what an ADR is there are three types in a court of law:
Court-Sponsored ADR Processes
• Early Neutral Evaluation (ENE)
• Mediation
• Settlement Conference with a Magistrate Judge
I have found a way to receive Case updates for Frontera vs Hope free for 7 days, seems genuine, through a legal site. I have signed up......can share the details if anyone is interested, though researchers on here may have already worked this one out. Anyway, let me know.
