Lot of aircraft have been converted to fly freight instead of passengers during the last 6 months so I don't anticipate as large a drop in engine flying hours as people are scaremongering about ..... currently the entirety of RR's Civil Aero business is being written off as not generating any revenue or cash which is far from reality.

I'm clearing some funds today for a small top up ... I cant see it dropping a whole lot further, but you can never guess the bottom at the moment. I think for RR the sell off from 200p is way over done, but the problem is theres no good news anywhere at the moment to get things going up

Nationalisation is a non starter under this govn.
I to think once we get to Jan 1st the govn will step in proper financial support for UK industries that might still be struggling if Covid is still not controlled.

For any RI they will need a backstop purchaser as I don't see current shareholders wanting to take up a full RI while the SP is falling 20% per week.

This is where UK Gov needs to step up its protection of critical UK businesses by financially backing them with Debt guarantees ..... if covid continues the way its going for another 6 months mutliple UK businesses will go under if UK Gov dont get their act together.

If theres an equity raise its not going to happen until RR have lined up a sale of assets eg ITP. They wont get an RI passed by shareholders because there are too many and the discount would kill the SP. A possible equity raise for some sovereign wealth funds is always likely and will cause dilution but until they stabilise the SP how can they even set a price.

RR have consistently said they are looking at all options and that they have sufficient cash and savings of cost to last the next 18 months ... if CV-19 doesnt get sorted by Q1 next year then yes its anyones guess, but until then its total pie in the sky shorter speculation.

Alexios - it does not say its an Right Issue it says equity raise with sovereign wealth funds ... there is a big difference

Im not convinced ... seen it drop 7-10% a day a few times over the last 3 months and hasnt rebounded. Drop from 240 to 205 in 2 days on the back of zero news ... and hasn't bounced from there.

Who knows where the bottom is. 1 thing is that stated shorters are few, so what manipulation is happening is well hidden

....and you wont hear anything from them, this is what BoD's do now, they aren't going to pamper to shareholders unless there is a signifcant holder or their own bonuses are tied to the SP.

I dont expect any news until the next quarterly update

I see very little point in using charts once long term resistance points have been broken ... once you are passed 10 year lows theres not much call for charts IMO.

Re £2 .... I don't think there was any resistance here, its a psychological barrier , thats all; probably a lot of people set stops here.

Its painful to keep watching it be hammered every day (far worse than other stocks in its sector) .... my last purchase at 240 I thought was a great buy (WRONG) .... but I'm buying for the recovery so no rush to sell. (Obviously annoying that I could have bought a lot lower but trying to time the bottom 99% of times you miss out)

rest of the sector down again today..... Seems inevitable that we will go to 200p now .... very disappointed with the share price performance of RR, other shares in the sector are down but well off lows of some months ago while RR continues to set new multi year lows.

This is normally the point I get fed up and sell at a loss only to see a share jump 30 or 40 % :) .... fortunately I bought for long term this time so no rush ... but would be nice to see a couple of green days now and again.

Joey I wasnt saying Portugal WAS the reason, I was saying it seems to be any reason given at the moment to drop RR .... The GBP strength vs USD does affect RR and the market as while reacted to that last week but hasnt reversed that this week when GBP has weakened

Meggit results dragging us down today..... seems to be any excuse for RR to drop at the moment. Last week we fell 20p becuase Portugal might go back on the Q-list and GBP was too strong...... Portugal didnt get added to the list and GBP is now at the lowest point for a month, but we dont get our 20 pence drop back :(
