Tops your logic is correct and I agree we are going to gap higher. However a cautionary note the SP is in GBP and INVESTED FUNDS in USD so with an average Cable price of 1.5 over the last 10 years the correlation of SP:IF is closer to $80:100million as opposed to “just over half.”
We don’t know what % of IF we will be reimbursed either.

Last thoughts for the week for what they are worth:-

1)lots of comments on various boards about Bahamas politics vis a vis drilling. Well consider the most dominant areas of oil production in the world and what their govts are like to deal with. Majors know about politics better than most.

2)Minnis and co have showed their commitment to change a la oil - Oban etc however they need to take the voters with them and that takes time. They are playing the long game in my opinion and BPC and potential partners are now probably aware of this and are working together towards the end game. Downside to this is things might not progress at the speed we all want. I hasten to add I am convinced we have a deal very soon if not next week.

3)I think Saudi does have the world’s largest OFFSHORE reservoir which Bahamas is being compared to. Venezuela has largest overall reserves, however, more expensive to recover than Saudi. Bear in mind point 1) as to politics and ability to benefit from those reserves.

4) Bethel - the whistleblower is not a politician/senator so comments on boards about “trusting anything politicians say” are misguided. He is the head of the legal system in The Bahamas and does know what is going on in these circumstances.. He has been used before to air controversy as a political ploy so the actual politicians can wash their hands if it backfires.

As I mentioned last week this is going higher.
Specialist is correct that it will be data driven for the big moves, however the market is primed for an attack on 3p over he coming weeks and on any concrete news will hit 8p.
There it will languish for a little while as the weaker longs take profits after last years shenanigans but thereafter onwards and upwards into double figures.

Jim I think we are primed and ready to move now.
The end of March requires BPC to report and I suspect they will see this as a target date for announcements of deal.
I like you I think never believed the “major” “walked” simply moved aside for a consortium to be formed with other partners.
BG re-licensing now is significant as a public announcement of “we are up for it” and cannot be reneged as it is in the public domain. Very important for the interested parties re recourse.
Timing re “hurricane” issues is somewhat irrelevant as if a deal is announced that will do for most folks although I for one will hold until strike which I am sure will be the final outcome.
