Never thought of this before. If you are short during a ri you have to offer that ri to the borrower just as you would a dividend so a large 19 to 1 would kill shorters as they would have to offer the ri to the lender. If they took it up then wouldn't the lender own the shares and rhw shorter not have any but had to pay? Head blown up thinking this one out...

The company is basically bankrupt any rise is chancers risking getting locked in and wiped out. There is no value here it is just a gamble on mm movements simple as that.

I'd say they was accurate. Just time time frame was the issue. Loan book is run down. Reserves put to paying claims as amigo said.. insolvency chaps called in. Bonds paid back.

This is all signs of winding up a company.

The fca was pushy and got what it wanted 30p down to 2.5p and a windup in progress.

Sounds like whoever you spoke to you aired your unbalanced portfolio, stress and losses and made the right call due to risk profile vs right call on thg. Obviously a big mistake in hindsight but this is why you only play with money you are OK to lose.
