Drill coats of $500,000 is certainly cheap. Victoria Oil and gas went over budge in Cameroon. With delays lightening strikes and weak drilling machine ans poor conditions, they spent $100,000,000 on a drill. Which was a double drill and 1 well was damaged. 1 remaining is now depleted. They then went on to do another double well. Has the same issues and did not learn anything from the first drill. It went on for ages, and they had collapsed wells and had to do another. Took more than 6 months or so and the cost went through the roof. Another $100,000,000, thats a total of $200 Million for an AIM company with dozens of placings. Now it is delisted and in administration. The boss was Kevin Foo.

The USA drills for me seem simple affairs , cheap and shallow.

I think the idea of drilling baby drilling is these shallow wells do not produce much, so you have lots of them. They are cheap to drill so you do need many. Then it is quite profitable. Best place to be now for an oil company is the USA.

Drilling seems to be illegal now in the UK and Kier and his lot wants to ban all drilling. Then they seem all confused as to why the cost of energy is going up, old people unable to heat their homes. Its is good we are allowed now to drill baby drill in the USA. Its good we have expanded in the USA. Yet to be appreciated.

As much as 20% of well in the USA produce less than 15 bopd. An oil price of $60 dollars would not make much profit, yet it is said an oil price of $62.00 the company`s profits double.

I know many companies open up abandoned wells and use new techniques to operate them and get the oil that was missed, and this is done with either pumps or water. Not sure that Moccasin is such a well is it? Any reference anywhere that this well or the previous well were stripper wells?

I know for a fact these shallow wells do no produce thousands of barrels a day. 100-200 would be seen as gushers and I think that type of flow, would be a fair amount of money for the investment put in. One needs lots of wells like this and I think it mounts up and money is to be made. If 20% of wells in the USA are stripper wells, makes you wonder why they continue.

I knew one company that went bankrupt as it was not allowed to enter one part of the well until one they were producing from was exhausted. The damn thing went on and on and the company went bankrupt. haha

But you are correct that a typical stripper well is under 15 bopd.

200 bopd would be nice.

I do know these shallow wells are not massive producers but they are cheap to drill, some taking just a bit more than a week to drill and you do get quick pay back.

If 15-20 barrels a day do come in not sure why the boss says if the well is successful it would "SIGNIFICANT" to the company. Would 15-20bopd be that significant?

If the Moccasin well is successful, it has the potential to be significant for Union Jack and its future.

Moccasin will be drilled to a Target Depth of 5,500 feet, and I would think no much more than a 2 week drill. Result to come by this week. In fact two weeks will be tomorrow.
