We also have a new matching share scheme where we buy so many shares upto £150 pound a month and the company will match upto £50 worth.

I can see the company using some of the buyback shares to supplement this scheme

The president of RR submarines is retiring this year only just announced a few weeks ago, I wonder if the results have had any impact on his decision?

Most of the RR employees where I'm based where out on the car parks on the mobile phones trying to get through to the sharesave broker to sell. The server had gone down at the time and they were all trying waving the mobiles around thinking it was the signal, the security had great fun in telling me when I got to work later that day.

My experience of Jacobs and Fraser Nash projects at Subs weren't impressive

I showed the RR SMR CEO and the Chair of the Board around my area of the RR Subs part last week, they were very nice people.

I sold shares at £12.0636 in May 2013 at an average of £3.1994 after a RR sharesave matured.

I think they even went higher to nearly £13 at one point

The maturing sharesave was only only available as a 3 year deal, there was the previous one which was a 5 year deal maturing at the same time but the option price was 6.97 so everyone cancelled them.

BOA is not swapping shares of two companies...they are swapping (on one side or another) performance on a stock (rolls royce) in exchange for interest (typically sofr+a spread and some fees). BOA could be in either side of the swap. Equity swaps are used to participate in expected gains or guard againt expected loses in an equity without having to buy or sell physical shares (better for taxes). All the big boys use them. Equity swaps are OTC instruments that broker dealers can create with any terms they see fit so BOA is likely holding the shares as a hedge against a created swap product requested by a client or their investment arm is buying swaps from someone else. Bottom line, normal behavior for a large bank.

This disclosure is likely required by the british government due to the large number of voting shares controlled by one party.

There are also interest rate swaps where you can swap the floating performance on cash or bonds with fixed performance (Silicon Valley Bank would still be around if they had hedged their bond portfolio with interest rate swaps)
