India aims to double its crude oil imports from Russia. The increase will be provided by the discounted oil to be purchased from Rosneft.
India will double its Russian oil imports by purchasing discount oil from Russian oil company Rosneft.
While the USA, UK and EU continue to seek alternative oil after the sanctions, India and China are increasing their oil purchases from Russia. According to a statement made by sources close to the subject to Bloomberg , studies are underway on a 6-month supply contract to be provided from the Russian oil company Rosneft at discounted prices between India and Russia. Thus, India's crude oil imports from Russia will be doubled.
Refineries in India, Asia's second largest oil consumer, which has already increased its oil imports from Russia , are making high profits from converting cheap crude oil into fuel oil both domestically and for customers in Europe and the USA. According to data from Kpler, Russia's oil exports to India in May amounted to 740,000 barrels per day. Exports were 284,000 barrels per day in April and 34,000 barrels in May of a year.
