Dear Mr Sanderson,
Thank you for your letter received 30 May, regarding UK Oil and Gas PLC’s (UKOG) hydrogen-ready energy storage project in Dorset.
Low carbon hydrogen will be vital for meeting our legally binding commitment to achieving net zero by 2050 and supporting the UK’s energy independence.
As announced by the Prime Minister in the recent British Energy Security Strategy, we have doubled our hydrogen production ambition to up to 10GW of low carbon hy-drogen production capacity by 2030, subject to affordability and value for money. At least half of this will come from electrolytic hydrogen, drawing on the scale up of UK offshore wind and other renewables and new nuclear.
Alongside raising our production ambition, we know that hydrogen network and stor-age infrastructure will be essential to the development of the hydrogen economy, providing the link between production and demand. In particular, hydrogen’s ability to store energy for long periods of time and in large quantities is central to its strategic value to a fully decarbonised energy system and we envisage hydrogen storage be-ing a key part of future network infrastructure. As such, I warmly welcome UKOG’s project proposal.
In the British Energy Security Strategy, we committed to design new business mod-els for hydrogen transport and storage (T&S) infrastructure by 2025, which we intend to provide investors and developers with the assurance they need to bring forward the T&S infrastructure that will be required to meet the Government’s renewed ambi-tions in this area.
Later this year, we intend to publish either a call for evidence or a consultation which will seek stakeholders’ views on hydrogen T&S infrastructure to support the design of the business models. I would encourage and welcome your engagement with this process.
It is also good to hear about the future inclusion of green hydrogen production and the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import facility as part of the integrated Energy Hub. Meeting our world leading Net Zero targets will mean major shifts in the way we use natural gas, however we recognise that LNG will form a key component of our ener-gy supply for years to come. It would be useful to receive further information on the scale and ambition for these elements of the project.

Ever wondered why UKOG have stopped predicting events that will happen in the "seasons" and the "quarters". They are now predicting in years but I'm not even sure those predicted for 2020 will make it.

If they have any sense they will announce the Interims after the AGM.

So the reason they did not appeal the IOW verdict was the cost of the appeal at Loxley being put at £0.5m won't be taken into account in making a decision? It probably won't matter what they put in the planning application if the councillors are dead set against it and they will be back where they started.

There have been lots of 10m sell trades going through this week. Haven't seen that for some time. Number of trades were down yesterday but the volume was up compared to Monday.
Must be in anticipation of the Interims and AGM when it could all kick off.

Over £2m should have gone to the local community. So much for promises.

There is no evidence to suggest UKOG have actually given 6% of gross revenues to the local community.

They did announce it 2 weeks ago.

My guess is 2023 or 2024 depending on how quickly UKOG get the "Condition" Planning applications in and approved.

II's, cash-rich strategic investors and anyone with any common sense are not stupid though. It does not take a lot with a modicum of research to get the full story on Turkey, geothermal, HH, Loxley, Portland etc.

Perhaps you should check the regulations first.

Actually it is Simon_Cawkwell and he does not have a short on ASOS although there are some that have been taken out on the company. I'm not sure the real Simon would have the same number of spelling mistakes more commonly found on the Fools posts. Always DYOR.

Gentlemen ,

As you are aware i normally don't go long in stocks but occasionally when i see exceptional value that a stock that has fallen so much and could rise 10 fold very easily , then i am very much interested.

On Monday I put in an order for 50 million shares at 0.125p.I am very happy to announce that the order was filled @ 0.123p.

My 12 months target is 1.5p.

I have taken a short on this stock for a total value of £1.2 million @ £8.60.

High inflation and high interest rates are not good signs to be long in a lot of sectors especially online retailers.Margins wiil erode much further and much quicker.

My 12 months target is £2.50.
