so basically we may see 6% before they start to come down, or we stick at 5.25% for 2-3 years to let things even out. Everyone will be bankrupt by the time the latter happens

Seems like the BoE are blindly following the US rates becasue they can see how quick their inflation came down without even thinking about how different the economies are. once again UK lagged behind other countries in taking action, first covid, now inflation, and once again we're paying for it.

Fleccy, of course not., but i highly doubt it will ever get back to £7 a share, let alone £10 as it was in the very late 90s, we live in far different times with far more competition and regulations. might reach £4-5 tops. happy to be proved wrong, i have as much skin in here as anyone i'd reckon, but being realistic.

based on all the messages i've read in here over the past 8-12 months, it sounds like most of the people complaining in here are retired, and nothing better to do, or are bitter they bought at 7-10-12£ range and will likely never see a return back that high.

in which case, i feel for you, but ******** about a company on a lse board which has no indication on a share price isn't going to help. either stick it out and enjoy the divvi on money you likely wont ever get back, or cash it in at a realised loss and move on with you life.

Let's just put it this way, the companies aren't going to now say 'right inflation is back to 3-4%, so we're dropping your pay rise by 50% are they?

I understand that people wanted pay rises in line with inflation, but i really dont see why these unions are stopping everything and asking for 'inflation busting' greater than 10%. inflation has and will fall more, yet these 10% rises will be here to stay.

i got 3%, which is the same as a normal year (except covid) yet im not sitting on a picket line striking. its a shame these companies cant be stricter with them. hope none of them get rises for the next 3-5yrs now.
