We are constantly told we are tied to world prices for energy.
Regarding petrol, there were (2 July) 32 countries charging under $1 litre (with crude 70 cents)
I'm not clear how, with 35% imported energy, we are in such a dire price situation.
Ancillary costs etc should not move exactly to crude.
We had $100+ crude prices in the past...
Gas, especially in parts of Europe, is of a different order.
Interactive Investors, my ISA provider, is asking me to vote.
These are normally "tick box" expressions, for (or against)
I'm pretty sure "for" despite 60% down...worth it? (the vote)
Re the chat, about "post" Vlad the impaler,
I remain convinced he can't last, a dead man walking; Any replacement may be "as bad"
But cannot see them "as mad" and will not carry on wrecking Russia, even if they don't care about Ukraine.
Hence, in a few months we will start the recovery, and some other wreckage, lives and infrastructure can start to rebuild.
I think Glen is secure, still buying their own shares.

This is a good example of why it is difficult to make sensible policies faced with a politically illiterate electorate.
