@ladhani To get the either or BOTH divis, you only have to think of one date. That is XD date which is 26Oct. You have to be a shareholder by that date, you will then appear on the register (not with standing Nominee a/c's) and qualify for the dividend.. which will be paid on 20Nov 2017. I note the SP has slipped below 600p...just after I topped up ! Good luck, whichever way you choose. Hugh.

Hi TJ: Credit to Pimpin,he did the hard work on that. So in summary, for anyone thinking of collecting a juicy dividend: Final & Special Dividend combined = 34.4p XD date = Thurs 26Oct 2017. Payment date = 27Nov 2017. Very pleased with that, lets hope the SP follows up with a rise towards the above dates. Not to be sniffed at. From Results, quote: "We are therefore delighted to propose a final dividend of 17.1 pence per share (2016: 12.3 pence per share) resulting in a total ordinary dividend for the year up 33.3% to 24.4 pence per share (2016: 18.3 pence per share) and the third of our special dividends totalling £175.0m, equivalent to 17.3 pence per share. Both dividends will be paid on 20 November 2017 to all shareholders on the register at the close of business on 27 October 2017."

the Special Divi could be around 17p... Nice thought, as the Final Divi amount is almost the same as the Special. The combined figure might be near 33/34p in total...at a share price of 620p,the dividend would equate to 5.4%

Found the answer I was looking for: From BDEV company site 'Shareholder Centre' "The Board proposes to pay special dividends of £175m in November 2017 and November 2018." 

The usual drill with the Special Divi, is a mention in the Preliminary Results on 06Sep... sometimes followed by a 'Declaration' giving XD dates etc. I note looking back at last few years Finals 2014,2015,2015,2016 that the 2017 Special Divi may be the last for the moment. There's repeated mention of a 3year Special Divi to 2017. Anyone, able to confirm or blow me out the water on this? Hugh.
