Can they be trusted to do what's best for shareholders. Are the BOD doing what personally rewards them best? The one or possibly 2 subsidiaries disposals, are they loss making or profit making?

Wed 19Apr: As an OPTI holder was hoping to get in here last Wednesday (1st day of trading). No guesses for what happened, did I buy any - NO Price seams to be settling now....that's more like it. Hoping to join you holders soon. Shame not many posters. Good luck, Hugh

Considering buying my first holding here. Have spent a mere 3/4 days researching 4D but apart from the 2 pages of comments on here (as good as they all are) I can find very little coverage......Anyone know if there's more views on ADVFN bb or give some pointers. I've skimmed through all the RNS and my next job is to do it again, more thoroughly. Grateful for any of your thoughts. You and me both...he who hesitates. No regrets though. You bought some MOTIF. I bought more OPTI thinking with an increased holding my allocation of Special divi/shares may turn out better for me as I'm an LTH. Hugh. PS: I also bought more Motif yesterday as I could see we are nicely warming up over there too.

Just had a quick read on the ADVFN BB...the jury's split whether this SP will re-trace any further. SOH and the mothership (OPTI) have too much interest and admiration from II and PIs + the 2017/18 ISA re-sets tomorrow. ?Second wave?

Rumour has it that " conviction buy" is a Goldman Sachs thing. They s-l-a-g off a share and watch it drop, collect some nice cheap stock. Then after 6 months or so, they say what a wonderful share and announce it as 'a conviction' buy.....I'm sure you get the idea. As I say it's a rumour and you would need to back test the data.

Suppose we'll have to wait & see when results come out beginning of March. Hugh.

Vodafone (VOD) is finally getting out of pagers, having confirmed that it has sold its pager business to troubled support services group Capita (CPI). The humble pager may seem archaic in the age of the smartphone, but the device is still used by medics, coastguards, firefighters and birdwatchers. That said, only 1,000 customers are being transferred to Capita's network in this deal. The market was awash with paging companies in the 1990s, but Vodafone's service was the last dedicated paging network run by a British telecoms company. Orange cut its network in 2002 and O2 followed suit two years later. Now Capita is the only UK company to run a paging business. I/C VIEW: Selling this 20th century business unit can only be good news for Vodafone, although the deal comes with little financial reward. Recently the mobile titan's energy has focused on network upgrades, product launches and overseas acquisitions - a strategy we like the look of. Buy at 202p. Last IC View: Buy, 204p, 15 November 2016
