The remaining 2.4 million tonnes of ore left behind at the Black Angel mine when it closed is largely tied up in pillars and other areas that were considered inaccessible or uneconomical to mine. The 2006 study I posted states by incorporating paste backfill, the remaining 80-100% of stope walls can be mined out. The same method of backfill that will be applied at Greatlands Havieron.

This should overcome the ESG compliance over wet tailings discharge with legacy issues.

Subsequent exploration efforts by companies such as Angel Mining and 80 Mile have identified additional potential resources in the surrounding Maarmorilik district, including the nearby Nunngarut zone, suggesting further mineralisation in the area beyond the original mine's unextracted ore.

There are reported to be several million tonnes of ore remaining at Black Angel, according to recent mineral resource estimates by companies exploring the area. 

Specific figures from a 2023 resource update indicate:

Approximately 5.1 million tonnes in the Indicated Resource category, grading an average of 10.9% zinc, 3.4% lead, and 28.7 g/t silver.

An additional approximate 5.3 million tonnes in the Inferred Resource category, grading an average of 12.0% zinc, 3.7% lead, and 33.3 g/t silver.

These resources are from across various deposits in the Maarmorilik area, including the previously mined Upper and Lower Angel mines, as well as the new "South Angle" and "Alpha" deposits. The figures represent an updated and substantial remaining resource, significantly more than previously understood when the mine closed in 1990 due to low metal prices

Will certainly be without some difficulties to overcome toward rehabilitation of the mine and processing infrastructure but is of significant scale if there can be a successful evaluation to re develop the mine site.

3-5 years with an early funding solution in place to bring it back to life alongside the organic growth of 75koz + per annum from gold production. There lies the next wave of significant growth.

Any kind of rise like that is going to be dependant on internal as well as external factors all coming together at once. Technical analysis and recent market trends in rare earths do actually suggest a predominantly positive outlook over the next year to support that so with continued updates from the company with general positive developments in the resource sector being the key indicators and charts suggest there is definitely a watering can formation ascending from the bottom of an ant hill, which cannot be ignored, neither can we ignore the possibility that Jez has suffered a bump on the head or we are experiencing some kind of reality inversion.

Anyway, it’s all smoke and mirrors, CB is only distracting us to milk the gravy train for as long as he can with what are essentially just mole hills that he’s found in his garden, not in Morocco. The company are in an aggressive growth phase toward a second new independent full cycle mining enterprise being the west Greenland hub.

Its acquisition, has been allowed from Nalunaq going into first phase plant commissioning through gravity processing with first gold pour in Nov 24, this major engineering and development milestone already reached, to achieve revenue generation and well on the way to sustainability and giving stakeholders the confidence to have raised the equity for the western hub venture.

Not only that, the equity raised in June was also to fast track Nalunaq commissioning and for the feasibility study toward increasing nameplate capacity of the plant from current 300t per day on full commissioning from gravity and flotation, to 450t per day with ‘additional’ mill and flotation.

The study is being advanced before the current nameplate capacity has even been fully commissioned. I’ve not seen this kind of progression before.

Hi icebreaker, agree with your points, although don’t confuse positivity in reporting with quality and transparency. I actually think they show a reserved level of positivity, but can equally show real confidence, Eddie Wyvill in an interview early in the year with Archer, confessed they have so much to go at, they actually need to start whittling it down to prioritise just 3 or 4 projects. Many peer companies pin all their hopes on just one primary asset.

Did say I got carried away, point was to mention in the underlying backstory, the Trump administration in talks to set up a $5b fund to invest in mining critical minerals with the goal of countering China's dominance in processing and acquisitions. Focussing in regions like Ukraine, Greenland, and the DRC. Also the receding ice cap that is now allowing easier access for potential to exploit more of Greenlands unexplored resources.

Ditto, and behind it all is what any investment in exploration needs, a good backstory or hook to keep investors interested and to attract new and bigger stakeholders.

Indoor all weather, modular design processing facility that can be easily boosted to 450t per day throughput with additional mill and flotation will be something number crunchers can really look forward to as satellite opportunities and increased mining fronts at Nalunaq materialise.

Yep fingers crossed, is becoming more interesting with Antimony being highlighted in media as it has. CB master stroke could well be in picking up the Amghas licenses and site of it former producing mine. The Antimony is already there, evident in high grade veins. They haven’t got to go out and scout it out for prospectivity. It’s there basically just lying around in the ground with veining visible at surface. Great place to start developing this side of the business, redeveloping an old mine and historic workings is a well trodden and successful business model. Being in the right place at the right time for backing this could be really good for shareholders willing to give them time to explore further and produce a mineral resource first and foremost it seems.

Hi JDAU what…you’re saying other companies exist that don’t have any form of income and cannot even pay the 300-500k running costs per year including listing fees, to just trade on AIM without even considering exploring anywhere or picking up others financially stressed projects that they can’t afford to advance themselves, on favourable terms without having to do a placing. That’s just crazy.

What about a placing where all the raised capital would go directly toward a ‘genuine’ growth opportunity? There’s a tricky one. 😉

The all important drill results and operational updates from Nanoq and Nalunaq will be reported in last quarter. Early indication of resource uplift in ‘26 resource/reserve statements.

Latest update was just from exploration toward satellite opportunities to service Nalunaq let’s not forget. Only tells half the story, the other side we still have the strategic minerals Gardaq JV exploration lead by world renowned porphyry and epithermal specialist Dr Steve Garwin. Looking for likely to be tier 1 up to billion ton high bulk tonnage resources through the mineralisation style at Ukaleq, with many other early targets within Johan Dahl land licenses extending across the copper belt. Stendalen and Regional Nickel Exploration. Gardar Igneous Province to assess both confirmed and newly identified REE targets for potential and scale. IOCG targets in the NW. And last, the newly acquired West Greenland Hub, assets that include the former producing zinc, lead, silver mine at Black Angel, as well as the proximal Kangerluarsuk zinc/lead project with the aim of defining resource potential and redeveloping Black Angel.

The potential for quality, major discoveries and growth potential over the next few years is just astounding.

They have on site lab assaying for grade control drilling, but resource drilling to be JORC compliant will sent away to be independently assayed

Members should be looking toward the reserve statement which follows a month or so after the MRE. The MRE just quantifies what is in the ground based on varying degrees of geological confidence, whereas the reserve statement is more relevant to the wider market as it represents what portions of the resource can be profitably mined and processed to “push out that bow wave of mine life in front of the mine.”

Why are you banging on about MMP? And I’m pretty sure the share prices of not only CB companies, but just about every junior has suffered the same fate, that you are clearly so narrow minded as to not want to even acknowledge the underlying reason.

And then it gets personal. It’s like debating with a 4 year old!

But if you must know, I have worked tirelessly to average down by trading as well diversifying without once having an alternative agenda other than support the company I am invested in and own every one of my decisions. If I didn’t agree with the company overall stratergy, or didn’t like the way CB runs the company I would sell up if I thought there was greater value opportunities elsewhere.

We are starting to see positive news flow, can we all start to get behind the company, it’s getting tedious now.

JV’s with XTr, GLr, Afp and Ken, speaks volumes and you come back with something that you clearly do not have a clue about.

Cooperlemon and through Colin Bird have signed multiple joint venture agreements over time across multiple companies. It stands to reason they would have a good working relationship.
