Cityboy, contact Computershare. They can and should provide you with a certificate of holding at the time of delisting. After many emails of badgering they sent me one. Not a share certificate I know but better than nothing. Computershare continue to inform me they are no longer Registrar for FRR and I should contact FRR directly or their new Registrar, whoever they maybe. My point is Computershare were Registrars at the point of delisting and should have sent me a share certificate then (they can't/wont tell me why they failed to send me one). Financial Ombudsman not interested as apparently their reach does not extend to Georgia and the non issue of certificates does not meet their regulated criteria (unbelievable). Like you I have been moved (not by choice) from SAGA to EQI and now to II and only have the holding certificate from Computershare and contract notes as evidence and unpicking all this after all the years we have been through will (IF FRR come good) be a nightmare. Although, the small piece of optimism is that II seem to think that if a relist takes place my holding certificate should be good enough to have the shares re instated onto CREST (just have to wait and see)
So, contact Computershare but be prepared for a drawn out email dingdong, I have found them to be pretty useless really at communicating.

Could it be a pre-cursor to a take over bid? Has to trade at a certain price to be able to be taken over by a company at that price or thereabouts (+ or - a percentage).

Mmmmm!! I am thinking the only people that can issue certificates is the registrar or company. Computershare say they are no longer acting for FRR (FRC) and should contact the new registrar (whoever they are) or FRC directly (good luck with that). I have submitted a complaint with Computershare (Jersey) as they were the acting registrar when FRC delisted, and that they should have issued me (us) a certificate at that time. I have told them to source me the share certificate as legally I should be provided with one. If you have any luck with II please let us know!!

Cityboy.....what you were told by II can not happen automatically, you will have a lot of leg work to do (unless FRC do the right thing if they ever re-list), which is why I am trying to obtain a paper share certificate in my name to evidence holding as I can see this taking many more years yet to sort out.

Just been informed by Computershare (Jersey) they ceased being registrar for FRC in 2019. Computershare terminated the contract and as within the terms of the contract did not have to produce printed share certificates for investors. So, nothing now within CREST, no paper share certificate (Is this even possible when there is a legal responsibility to provide a share certificate when a company delists?) and a suggestion from Computershare to contact the new registrar or FRC. Out of interest, who is the new registrar, does anyone know? No point trying to contact FRC. Even if FRC do relist, I can see it will be a real problem reinstating the share holding onto any trading platform. Computershare have however sent me a document showing certificate number, shares held at date of delist and a reference number. I guess that is better than nothing but I agree with you 'mapp', the Financial Governing body should be all over things like this.

Just received an email from Computershare informing me of my share holding (with share certificate number) for FRC prior to delisting. Further, they confirm they are sending me a paper certificate by post. Not sure whether this has been brought about by FRC, my communications with my broker and involvement of the Ombudsman, or something else. I will post if and when I receive the share certificate.

Good luck 'Squashman', it will be very interesting to know what EQI come back with!! I am aware when a company delists the stock can not be held in an ISA but I am a little confused why they could not have transferred my holding from my ISA into my dealing account. They have done exactly that with my BNN shares and they have been delisted 2 years so not worried about share certs for BNN as there is a record of me owning them in my account. I think 'Njames' has the answer and if correct FRR probably had no intention of relisting. Someone on here once posted not to worry about printed share certificates because FRR will have a record of its share holders. That would be comforting if I could believe it, especially as things are at the moment. Would love this to eventually come good for all our sakes but sadly there is little I have observed to give me that confidence anymore.

Squashman, I have the same issues. Even better though EQI told me they had sent me the share certs, obs they had not though and their own secure emails contradicted themselves at every turn. I have the Ombudsman on board now, but I don't think they will be able to help. The worry is, should FRR eventually relist and I know that's a big IF, it will be a nightmare trying to untangle everything through 3 Brokers even though I have retained all the emails and statements (when we are moved to II, all our secure emails will disappear). Computershare are absolutely useless, do not answer emails and give the run around on the phone. I have asked EQI for a definitive contact at Computershare. EQI say best way is to use Computershare's online form which attaches contact details for every share/ticker. Guess what, when you enter FRR it says delisted, ha ha and they would have known that, so in goes another complaint for the Ombudsman.
