Slightly diverging from the SP issue and the ramifications of a hard Brexit - my concern is should UK hard brexit it and say there will be no hard border, this will leave the EU with no option but to impose on Dublin that they set up a hard border......this sh/t show is only starting folks. I really am at a loss to to how heads can come together over a deal. Will May resign on monday ? who knows...
The SP will tank like no tomorrow. People have their heads so far up where the sun don’t shine on this issue. The Uk won’t enforce a hard border but the EU will on the Rep of Ireland tonenfoece one to “protect” the customs union. This is unraveling into a serious sh/t show.
I beg to differ Chris. The SP will tank if there is a hard brexit- end of. The direct and immediate impact from a hard brexit will be ecomically catastrophic. The SP is priced now for no mans land. You can do all the economic conundrums and fill your walls with graph projections re QE etc etc ( i have a degree in economics ) but the SP is utterly parralling political events . I’m not so sure people realize a hard brexit will have savage consequences all round. Putting it bluntly if GB pulls the shutters down and a hard border is put in place in NI there will be civil war. Reading the Daily Express , it’s readers must live in caves and drink pale ale/crisps as their staple diet .Ms A Foster has her head so far up her posterior on this front. I also disagree with 2CV that the SP will rocket if there’s a deal. SP will definitely rise slowly and 8 bells will be a memory. The bank itself is doing alright but it is totally aligned with current political events and uncertainty. I am praying hard to see a deal wit brexit not to see my wallet swell re the sp but to see political stability. I worry though about NI- it’s a tinder box all ready to explode .
the bigger picture is that this share is hanging on by its toe nails here. A non brexit deal with have serious and short term damaging effects to the UK economy. Needless to say the SP will half imo. Ireland irrespective of being outside of the UK will be dragged equally down with this doomsday scenario. It is in the best interests of all that a deal is struck and if so BKIR will not explode in value but will meander on climbing in baby steps. The 1:30pm announcement is like every other announcement re effecting the sp.....none.
naive with respect to say the violence has ended. A hard border re Brexit will only play into the hands of extremists. It’s a tinder box waiting to explode so please god if there is a god that whatever way Brexit happens on the “mainland” that the border will remain open. How this will happen is beyond me re a hard brexit
wow to get a post deleted here must have been seriously offensive as there has been some sporty posts here put up over the years with nothing said. Maybe the LSE have dragged a moderator into the fray. Wonder what the cat said to see his post lifted ?
what a rag the express newspaper is- totally inviting brexit hatred and division - they’ll get what they asked for- society at war. As for that fighting idiot Liam Fox- when all this is done and dusted with a hard brexit , GB won’t know what hit them. Irrespective of the deal they’ll get it not get from Brussels they’ll be despised. Borders and free travel will be a nightmare and that’s not even thinking of NI. Just get BOI to 8 bells and i’m jumping out of the plane( parachute packed ) like the famous DB Cooper https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/D._B._Cooper
So as Boris continues to watch Re runs of the Battle of Britain and Norman Wosdom movies reality sets in that a hard brexit is nothing but a sh/t show with Jaguar and Airbus Sabre rattling that they’ll have to resort to draconian measures to ensure parts supplies at current costs- ie relocating with massive job losses. A soft brexit is the only show in town- I think the Chequers love in will reflect on the market this week positively. Lastly white smoke that the govt will off load it’s 15%- short term dip on sp but it’s only good long term they are not on board .
Buy? How long have I been in these pieces of gruel and we hear buy? I’ve come to the common sense conclusion BKIR is a proxy piece of poisoned manure held by the big guns that can wait decades to real air the kings prize. All my other shares are spinning along- BKIR is a mule.- a total dog turd. 8 lids and I’m out, but I’ll wait.
