paddy great to hear someone disagree. rome / eu spat is a side show imo. Markets are terrified at (a) the utter disorganization in the conservative party and it’s consequences (b) labour with Corbyn is not a credible alternative re a gen election (c) the economic fallout of brexit hard /soft/whatever, the penny has dropped that Brexit is savage. A hard brexit will see the biggest economic collapse in the British Isles short term. Ports will jam etc etc- Ireland through no faults of our own will wither on the EU vine due our geographic location. Markets now are only now coming to terms now that a hard brexit is going to be a almighty economic shock. Here’s hoping reality and sense prevails but when u have brexiteers like R Mogg, BoJ, et al driving a all or nothing agenda with Arlene and the lynch mob in no surrender mode, I just throw my hands up and say how the fugh is this going to sort out?
i think we r looking at a collapse of the sp. I’m not being dramatic but people need to realize what an utter sh/tshow brexit is. Hard brexit will be utterly catastrophic for the economy- a soft brexit will also have serious consequences. BOI may end up taken out. 5 euro and less as a base price is with foundation. Irrespective of our linksnto the EU, Ireland is a small nation on the periphery of western europe whose biggest trading partner, biggest political partner is giving the two fingers to all. No matter what happens, the Uk have soured indefinitely their relationship with europe. It will take generations for forgivenesses if ever. I personally will never forgive Britain if civil war erupts in NI. Parliament is chaotic , the break up of the union is on the cards, Scotland next to kick off . Watch this space - sorry for being the prophet of doom but I utterly depressed at our outlook
DG, welcome aboard this crazy train. Agree with your sentiments. Unfort Brexit has wrecked the sp imo. Until the brexit mess is sorted out and there is some type of certainty, unfort that 12€ target is a pipe dream irrespective of how well the mechanics of the bank are doing.
