I'll happily pay tax if I can get my dividend. I spent 2700 on what will earn be about 2k a year in dividends. if I pay 7.5 percent tax on that I'm not bothered because in my mind 2700 for 2k of dividends minus 7.5 tax is a deal I would take any day of the week. I fact any dividend near 20% I'd happily take the tax hit for.

I think a lot of that is to do with oil prices. Oil is used in many fertilizer, pesticide, and also use to fuel the quarry vehicles.

I don't think we'll go the way of POG because we have the cash to pay debt we just aren't allowed to pay. That being said I'd have thought the longer the war goes on the more likely we are to get into problems. It's a weird situation in many ways, we cannot pay our debts but we also can't sell our Russian assets because Putin has made it illegal for for UK businesses to sell without his permission. NA assets might get sold off and be used to satisfy westerd debtors.

My overall guess is that the business will basically exist in Limbo until the war ends and normality resumes.

I see your point but you can increase holdings via asset value increases combined with leverage. So if we say own 100mil of property with 50% dept property gets up to 200 mil valuation we borrow another 50mil to get back to 50% debt and then buy 50 mill worth of property. we have effectively increased our property holding by 25% just by refinancing.

The express newspaper should always be taken with a huge amount of salt. It's one if the more absurd papers IMO.

War does look like it can potentially end. Zelensky says he's willing to negotiate on Crimea if they get to the border. I see that as him basically admitting that he'd rather call it a day that try to get Crimea back. One big push for spring/summer and then let Russia keep Crimea. Seems like the kind of thing that most will accept.

Dividend would be great for me, are they in a position to legally pay one?

I actually think you're worse than BB because at least BB talks about something somewhat related to the stock, all you seem to talk about is yourself and who it is you deem to be worthy or not. Self indulgent nonsense and ultimately no one cares about your naughty and nice list!

I've noticed this for a while they've been gradually modifying expectations. I was reading the Tao of Charlie munger and he was saying how the USA and China are basically co-dependent and neither will ever fully decouple. It's in the interest of both the USA and China to end the war. Even if Ukraine give up some territory at least they've given Russia a good fight and I'm sure Putin won't be rushing into "special military operations" in the years following.

I think the basis of the short is similar to a loan/bond. Not sure how it works on a suspended share though.

Only one specific type is actually radioactive hence why thet have to enrich it. They filter out the unstable particles put them together and then add TNT. It all uranium and Plutonium was radioactive to that extent the world would be one big bomb. They literally dig this stuff out the ground.

Can you elaborate on that? I'm personally not aure what to believe. It seems like there's no truth out there. I've been looking at al Jazeera in an attempt to get a different viewpoint but it's all just chaotic and I don't really trust any involved.

I definitely think the world is changing and the old days of 1st world meaning wealthy and 3rd world meaning poor are definitely going to change. Hopefully it will lead to a more stable world.

It's in the interest of all parties to get this up and running again. A sell out will still cost the economy and the only one to benefit will be whoever buys on the cheap. Whereas a continuation of trading means the lenders will get full equity returned and the shareholders and economy won't have to take a hit. I don't think any judge wants a business to go under, they just want the paw to be upheld and lenders to get what is rightfully theirs.
