To be fair it was going to drift anyway and be volatile until everything re-opened: you could see that it was in a range going up and down up and down.

Of course it is. First, the coach services are a small part of their world wide operations. Second, they now won't be paying out staff costs for two months (furlough). they won't be paying fuel costs, servicing costs, etc. They'll save money doing this. Three, they won't need to do a raise as they have plenty of cash in hand and access to. It isn't like NEX just came out and said every single operation around the world is now suspended and they won't be making any money. I see it as one small part is closed to SAVE money.

Apart from a couple of speculative penny stocks I have GGP is the only thing down in my portfolio today.

National Express will fully suspend its national network of scheduled coach services with effect from 23:59 on Sunday 10 January 2021.

Chris Hardy, managing director of National Express UK Coach: “We have been providing an important service for essential travel needs. However, with tighter restrictions and passenger numbers falling, it is no longer appropriate to do this.”

All journeys before Monday 11 January will be completed to ensure any passengers making essential journeys are not stranded. All customers whose travel has been cancelled will be contacted and offered a free amendment or full refund.

Chris Hardy adds: “As the vaccination programme is rolled out and Government guidance changes, we will regularly review when we can restart services. We plan to be back on the road as soon as the time is right and have put a provisional restart date of Monday 1 March in place (subject to change).

“The whole team at National Express worked incredibly hard throughout 2020 and I want to thank them for their efforts as we pause our services. We will now make sure we are ready to get back behind the wheel as soon as the nation needs us again.”

Regular updates will be provided through the National Express website, social media channels and customer emails.

Totally agree Dhanteras and it seemed strange at the time but then the announcing of GH leaving adds more intrigue to the deal. But I said at the time and still say the terms are rubbish. Still let's see what happens with the new CEO and the direction.

Lockdown is coming that is why with probably borders shut so travel stocks will be going down.

Gurus often work out as they buy a stock pump it and everyone rushes in they sell out and make money. No real effort involved.

This past week may as well of not happened in my portfolio as most of it is back to pre-Christmas levels (aka lost money). Everything was low trading volume today and most went down. People are right - good news is out of the way and what will people look for now? probably recovery - ie profit and revenues. The next good news is going to be re-opening with no signs of shutting down again but by all accounts that looks to be April/May at earliest, with the looks of a Tier 5 coming. It will be tough but for the long term holder rewarding.

FTSE has totally different rules it isn't an automatic promotion in to it. Some companies never make the jump - there are massive companies on AIM who would take out loads in the FTSE 250 before AFC, Ceres, ITM etc.

Not even 1/10th of its average trading volume today guess people are getting ready for the new year. Have a good one all you who made decent money from this share.

Since the sellers were selling far more shares and those buying only bought relatively few it suggests people weren't buying near the end at this level and people willing to is quite low. I guess it'll drop again in the near future as there are plenty a few pence below it seems.

Anyway, deserve or not the same happened with ceres last year and ITM. Once they had partnerships and news (ITM e.g. testing in the grid) they marched forward and never looked back. AFC could well do the same.

People have been saying this since october about scally... They really want to get on with releasing the news if they have it.

Makes me sad when I see people saying they've held shares many years which are 50, 60% down, meanwhile over those years they've thrown away the ability to make many times more than that.

The big banks were down that is why because the brexit deal doesn't really cover them. It also got dragged down by USA - as it so often does.

Until things start to open for sure this will just bounce around.
