I'm sorry but very few investors read BB before investing. I'd be surprised if all the BB holders here made up even 1% of the shares... Certainly not going to be affecting the price. What would though is knowing that the past few days they were available for £2... why would you want to pay more?!

I've been in shares where new ones issued have dropped it down to the price and then others where it didn't budge an inch.

Yes well that is obvious anyone with 'secret' info is normally playing and usually laughing at an attempted pump and dump dragging suckers in and who disappear off pretty quickly after a spike.

If anyone had genuine secret intel and they acted on it then they wouldn't be shouting about it on a forum. They'd be quietly making a fortune... (especially if it were say questionable whether it was inside information and should even be acting on it - not accusing anyone of that btw just hypothetical).

My buying choices in GGP for example have always come from the drill results Newcrest have put out and not from supposed intel, or what some bloke in australia who knows someone who saw something who then telephoned another bloke in UK, charts, signs, wonders, entrails, hunches, feelings, rumours, apparitions, voices in the night, a dream, tips overheard in a cab, on a bus, at the hairdressers, etc... that is the only sure way - verifiable information from a source you can judge the history and motives of.

Of course I don't include people who provide useful information or 'intel' like Paddy as that is verifiable satellite pictures. Or others who provide reasoned arguments with calculations and figures from verifiable data that I can judge and evaluate as to whether it is worth buying more.

Then they would have dropped it to fill the gap and not sent it up would they... And the gaps on the whole industry magically all appeared around the same level did they of 30% down?! No of course not... all going back up around the world on stimulus and enough people shouting buy the dips because shares in general had reached correction level of 10 - 15% down (30% in clean energy) ... Again everyone waiting. The fact is short term crashes are caused by people piling out and waiting for a self-fulfilling prophecy to come back in.

Only people who can't accept shares go up and down daily and sometime shares fall a lot as people who are in for short term gains pile out of hyped shares at the first sign of anything slightly negative news wise believe market makers sit going finally I can punish holders of one share... when they make their money on spread across many many shares without ever having to buy or sell the shares themselves (which is far more risky for them!). Imagine making lots of guaranteed money daily moving stock between two parties without ever having the risk of owning it... Everyone would take that in a heartbeat. Hence if they want to find a market to get the most churn what will they do... find where everyone is queuing up to buy on their self-fulfilling prophecy. Not because of manipulation but because that is where the people have decided to all line up and buy. The people bring it upon themselves - 'oh we want it to go down to 35p so we'll all wait... oh my those dastardly MMs are manipulating the stock because none of us are buying the stock at higher levels!!!' Of course the theory falls apart when they at a certain level say oh MMs are holding it this low to accumulate to sell to a big buyer, only for the share price to spend the next few months lower... yeah really going to buy to sell at a loss aren't they LOL!!!

The favourite of the manipulator conspiracy theories is "oh look at all the buys out stripping sells and we're still going down" and then look at all the "missing shares" daily when in fact logic states that every buy needs a sell etc so they can't outstrip lol. Guess these computers are rubbish at guessing sometimes!

If you want to believe chartism and manipulation conspiracy do it (The so called 'smart' investors who will be in and out more times than a body part during the hokey cokey based on squiggles and ever changing indicators causing all the volatility in the first place!!!). Or listen to the best investors in the world who buy and hold undervalued companies and pay no attention to what the charts, fed, market or anything else are doing other than what they value a company based on research and analysis.

A lot of it is - but when there are so many technical indicators it is hard to know which to focus on... a lot of traders do acknowledge a lot of chart reading works not because there is anything to it (or that they even believe it!) but that enough people believe it and it gives them the best chances of making good entries, exits etc. You have an instant market to buy from/ sell to.

As the poster said he is waiting for 40p. If everyone is waiting for that then you can be sure it will go down to 40p. If they all want to wait until 35p then you can pretty much guarantee it is going to 35p to find a level of enough buyers for the sellers. Hence the charts are right... because we all waited to make it right and pat ourselves on the back for being so smart as to correctly time the market (which they created en masse with their beliefs) !!!

Hope marshall wace - who were apparently so much smarter than me - closed their shotgun shorts against nearly every UK share, but particularly ITV. That would have cost them a lot for being stupid... Still could be worse could have missed out on this rise entirely for a share that has spent the past six months sliding.

Lots of shares spend time in a range. Every time it tries to rise it goes down (guess someone decides they want to sell at 23p!) at the moment so it has found a level people are willing to pay and churns the most trades over. Give it an upgrade to resource at havieron or another site with good results it will move. An example: I am in NEX and that spent a long time between 220 and 260 before shooting off again. It is now stuck between 300 and 320. And that is despite broker notes valuing it more every time and it being worth more than the SP made it out. Just how shares behave some times. That has jitters due to lock down plans. I suspect this still has jitters due to other concerns. This has been a month at this price range - not a long time in the grand scheme of things, as I mentioned a few posts down Newcrest spent 2 and a half years in a range (pray that doesn't happen!)

Delay is said why - gives time to audit so I suspect their staff are at home or got more to do than normal.

Webcast - could just be new CEO finally showing his face to people and talking. Hoping it gives a nice roadmap of their plans for expansion etc. Be nice to see their plans for growth post-pandemic (which hopefully won't be long now!). Dividend reinstatement was originally being considered last year for results time but who knows if that will happen.

Oh I'm not saying it wouldn't bounce back or never fly again at any point I'm just saying it is still precarious but the downer seems to be it for both market and GGP at the moment (though any bit of news for either and all bets are off). However, what I am certain of is some time between now and when I sell they will be a lot higher in price. How and when that happens and what happens in between is anyone's guess though.

They say every new president year has an average drop at some point of 16% so yes this is probably it. But a big crash won't save any stocks.

Might be a different company every result but the market for ggp and ncm hasn't reacted to that at the moment - both down 30% or so (although newcrest is back to prices a year ago and to where it spent two and half years bouncing about... fortunately we are not that far!). it is still a nervous sp at the moment but consolidating which is good.

Oh I know full well a market crash will drag ggp down... Not long last year after buying mid 5p it went down back into the 2s with march madness last year!!
