Physiomics Demonstrates Hantavirus Translational Modelling Capability
Published on 05/28/2026
Physiomics plc highlighted the development of a hantavirus translational modelling framework demonstrating the Company's quantitative pharmacology and mechanistic modelling capabilities within infectious disease applications. The framework illustrates how Physiomics can integrate multiple evidence layers into a coherent translational workflow, linking in vitro antiviral screening, concentration-response potency modelling, pharmacokinetic exposure translation, mechanistic PK/PD viral dynamics, and virtual population simulations. The modelling workflow has been designed to demonstrate how quantitative systems pharmacology approaches may be used to assess whether antiviral activity observed in laboratory systems could plausibly translate into meaningful viral suppression under simulated human exposure conditions.
Illustrative workflow components include simulated 384-well phenotypic antiviral screening, EC50 and Emax concentration-response modelling, human PK exposure simulations against potency-linked targets, mechanistic viral-load dynamics modelling across differing antiviral modalities, and virtual population and time-to-clearance simulations. The Company believes the framework demonstrates the breadth and flexibility of Physiomics' modelling capabilities and highlights the potential role of mechanistic translational modelling in supporting infectious disease therapeutic development programmes. The material has been prepared for scientific and illustrative purposes only and does not constitute evidence of clinical efficacy for any specific therapeutic compound, nor has there yet been any commercial application of the hantavirus modelling framework.
The Company notes that further experimental, preclinical and clinical data would be required before any conclusions regarding therapeutic efficacy could be drawn.
