RE: Annual copper production to double?2 Jun 2026 09:34
Just using Measured and Indicated I get 147k tons of copper, 204k oz gold, 2m oz silver. Using conservative pricing that is around $2b in resource. Should be enough copper there to replace Kounrad production with another 10+years of mine life. The gold would go some way to replacing SASA. Timelines probably align quite well, but anyone with experience got an accurate idea of how long this will take to get in to production with permitting etc?
Doubling Cas production with the compressor would give an extra $2m a quarter. Even 50% boost would be an extra $1m.
Looking at the MD&A it is good to see the bank debt coming down, which will accelerate in Q2 now the CB payments are kicking in. Higher oil prices have come at just the right time - full quarter effect approx $1.3m extra for every $10/barrel.
A common solution where you want something but don't have the contract or licence is to ask the current holder to continue or undertake work and arrange to reimburse. I wonder if this is what is happening?
Interesting the acquisition money is for infrastructure and facilities. Another Bonasse where the field is shut in but has well, tanks, sales point to pipeline?
Plenty to get stuck into here as the results showed revenue up 14% q/q at $12.5m and y/y production at 4,657 boe/d which is up 8% but more importantly the Central field at 2,131 boe/d ‘mitigated natural declines in legacy assets’.
Pricing has helped of course and the LNG pricing is better and overall gas is up 18% with oil up 25%. With the compressor arrived and hopefully in commission by the end of June and the CR-3 problems hopefully addressed before long I am confident that operationally Touchstone should have the scope to improve.
The shares have fallen as the company is addressing financial issues which I remain confident will be sorted in the near term.
Did PB buy him dinner and a nice bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape?
Had a cheeky small top up at 7.1p. Mcap less than price paid for CB, some positives in the offing (2 new oil wells to come online, CR3 works, Cas compressor). Who knows, SLB may fix the pump at Cas3.
