The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Take your point Ortherncopper, but after years of owning this frustrating share, just let us dream for a long weekend!
... anyway, put this into context with everything else...
1. Industry acknowledged 'fantastic and well delivered' PFS ( f.....g finally! )
2. New look exec. team flying round the world whipping up investor support post PFS
3. The Porvenir and Tandy update , with more 'upside' to come.
4. Multiple industry news wires touting bids June ( leak IMHO )
5. Now this technical report, which addmitedly is a regulatory requirement, but with the backdrop of the above, combined with all the news about copper about to take off like GME...
Call me nieve, but given this was dropped 1st June ( the rumoured bid month ), why wouldn't this be starters orders for a dutch auction of Cascadel? Exciting times.
Bet Nick is sat a chair, cigar in mouth 'I love it when a plan comes together...'

Have a great weekend all. C
Thanks for digging that out rk, but wow... that explanation is just words :-) ... and I thought I was smart. C
Loving the tone of the Solg board this weekend, none of the usual tosh and just really good opinions being well respected on the 'what ifs'. Great posts... C
Exactly DBW. As an individual transaction, that was as big as it gets for SOLG. Someone went big for a reason.... Knowing my luck it will be cos Brenda the long serving tea lady's cats died and she's retiring, but there again, i did have a very itchy palm yesterday... humm :-)
Regardless of the reason for the EGM, surely this is going to get the SP back to 40p+?
If the release of the PFS got us to 41p, which let's face it was never going to be a value realisation event for any of us, since then we've had Thursdays great RNS and now this, fomo will take over and we're under starters orders to new recent highs surely?
Someone with £1m was confident things are heading in the right direction yesterday!
I've put the popcorn on the shopping list. Exciting times. ATB, C
More of a Stamford man myself @Damers, noticed they had a very well stocked fridge of Dom Perignon when I was in there over the weekend, but will let the lovely wife drink that and stick to the beer myself, stuff gives me a right headache! Still, I'll buy the first bottle if one of the suitors final commits. Once that first bid lands though, I'll be sitting back with popcorn in hand as that's when this one goes primetime. C
Watchya Damers, businesses partner is a lovely guy but always been a bed wetter, so he cashed out at 34p on the first run up and is out. Me and the rest of the family are here till the bitter end, so holding strong. Feels like there is some genuine belief now and will interesting to see where this recent run rests. Diamond hands all, the world needs them minerals, and someone is gonna have to get em out sooner or later. Have a good week. C
@fruitbat, Man. Utd winning the Premier League is also a matter of weeks away... the handles also not inspiring confidence luv, so if you could throw a bit more weight behind your throw away statements, that would be grand. C
The guys on CNBC's Fast Money have been saying for weeks that 3800 is the threshold on the S&P to buy the dip. Should get there in the next 10 trading days max, then money and sentiment return. I'm relaxed about this one, them minerals are going nowhere. All the best Solgers, the hardest thing to do is nothing! C
@zoros.. Read you 1800 post and made me chuckle. Me and half my family own solg and have done for years now. Family get togethers where we dream of the holiday home paid for by our wise investment in SOLG, year after year :-) let's hope its worth it eventually and the reason SOLG retweeted that post was down to the 'its almost as if the process is about to kick off' part, and them dropping a hit as to what's coming. The goods are in the ground and are going nowhere so this is just a waiting game. Have a nice evening all. C
I really wouldn't worry Jtan, the pull back today is all down to the bloodbath being played out in the US markets where they are heading to 12 months lows. This will come good. Just hold tight. I've really reduced my holding here just because I see areas where I can work my cash harder, but still a great company and I plan to increase my holding again later in the year. All the best. C
Nice way to finish the day in the Maldives, ****tails at sun down and 40p back on the board. 17p seems like a long time ago now... them minerals were going nowhere and I know how many on here must be enjoy this... all the best all. C
Next leg higher today SOLGers.... boom!
Topping up mine and the wife's Isas with a few of these bad boys today. I care not that I have missed out on a 28% rise, won't make a difference when we are at £10+... so exited for this co. and it's employees, amazing work that could prevent so much hurt. Attack the day all. C
IMHO, news is being sat on until some kind of corporate action is initiated, and whatever updates SOLg are sat on can be used to manipulate the outcomes they are after. I think we are now embarking on a waiting game. Attack the day all. C
@Damers.. assuming you mean Hale in S. Manchester, what time do you want us? :-) just up the Hill Bowdon and there's a fair few shares being tightly held by my family, although my business partner sold out at 32p... #muppet. Results enjoyed the last couple of weeks here... the goods have been in the ground for thousands of years so was always going to come good!
All the best all. C
@Quady.. love your commitment to the Plan A, we're going to production line, but for me, Plan A is called Plan A for the purposes of getting the best deal and extracting the most value out of any potential suiter. I will be very surprised if I'm still holding shares in SOLG in 12 months time and we are building a mine, but I could be wrong and will doff my cap to you if I am.
Have a great day all. Onwards and upwards!

Interesting to see commentary of NEX themselves becoming a takeover target...

Started to recover my position here over the last couple of days.
Good day in the travel stocks over in the US. Let's hope the bounce starts tomorrow. C
Congratulations to those who picked up shares in the dip to 180's as yesterday's move was immense. I think today's reaction to good results indicates in this market its time to sell the rally as I think a slow and steady rise to 330 is now out of the question and we might have more trips back to circa £2 to come. All IMHO. C
Will be interesting to see how this week's pans out as we have consistent comments that the UK cannot get too involved in Ukraine and we just need to sit back, be back seat drivers and let this play out until Putin is eventually overthrow. Many believe this is now the beginning of the end for Putin, which I sincerely hope it is. With this in mind, there will be caution over the coming weeks, but IIs may start to come to the conclusion that this will have limited impact on NEX, IAG.. EJZ etc so we could see a floor at these levels. The price of oil will be a factor too, but we are starting to get to the 125 a barrel figure which many analysts see as the top. I trimmed heavily in NEX two weeks ago and sold 2/3 of my 172k share holding at 263 which I am grateful for, but the remaining 55k shares I'm going to sit on for now as, fundamentally it's hard to draw a straight line between NEX and Ukraine ( other than fuel, which is hedged ), and I think results on the 11th should be good. I know these time are tough for PI, but hang on in there, sometimes the hardest thing to do is to do nothing. C
I've now pivoted to commodities as I think Gold and Copper are going to breakout, so have invested heavily in SOLG, a great story that is ripe for a takeover this year, anyone with spare $, could be worth a look, but as always DYOR.
Have a good week all. C
