The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring financial educator and author Jared Dillian has been released. Listen here.
NAL, WI messaged this the other day...
'The Chinese are the most likely buyers. They will take time to complete their due diligence for sure as it is a big project.'
This implies they are already doing DD on the resource. Granted this is an assumption and we all know what happens whe you make decisions based on assumptions, but Bob and WI know each other well and your not telling me WI doesn't have an inside track on what's going on. Make of it what you will, but WI was very confident of recycling his SOLG investment in time for the next metals bull run recently and that's positive as far as I'm concerned.
Hope you enjoyed mother's day. ATB. C
Everyone just needs some patience;
- The world needs what we have, lots of it
- What the world does have is running out
- The prescious metals we aslo have are fast turning into 'the' safe haven in a divided world where trusted stores of value are gaining importance.
- it's up for sale
- We have an interested party who's been doing DD for a fair while now
- We have an industry renowned banker on the deal who is aligned with our very own interests.
Like BigDude has said, 'the numbers are big', so it's just going to take a while to get closed out, but for me, we're on the home straight to step 3.
Enjoy the weather all and forget about the sp, its irrelevant unless you need to sell any time soon.

From BigDude this afternoon...
'I think the Chinese are the most likely buyers. They will take time to complete their due diligence for sure as it is a big project. The issue is things are getting tougher for the Chinese to buy large world class assets, so they know they need to move faster than normal.'
'take time to complete' .... interesting choice of words. To me this indicates WI thinks the Chinese are already doing DD ( well, we already guessed that much anyway ). A price must have been agreed for them to be this far and letting them inspect the cores, drill logs and everything else that goes with the DD process. Would love to know what it is! Another day closer. C
The sp doesn't matter NAL, it's the value of the asset that matters and its up for sale. There's multiple instances of the sp being out of line with true and fair value ( especially in this market ) and you will see it correct to fair value in the coming weeks. C
Scott also has experience in Ecuador Quady, when this is sold in the coming weeks they will both have a lockin for a couple of years to get the build part of the project delivered. You could conclude that much from the interview Scott did in Feb that he had consided himself to being on the ground in Ecuador for a while.
That's why I have no problem with his vast options, same for the CFO. They are both an important part of the deal with the Chinese, and the options are part of the deal with the management. Let's get this FTA out of the way then see what that unlocks next. Looking good.
Slug, DBW, any update from on whether Nicks put a new rolls or fancy boat on order yet as I bet he's bored of having the brochures on his coffee table!
Enjoy the long weekend all. C
For me, a delisting will be required. See WIs response here.

Have a good one all. C
I've found these podcast a great source of education in recent tines. The most recent being very bullish for SOLG...

Glad someone made some money on THG this week add, one of my closest friends sold his entire 270k stake the Friday before as he ( correctly ) forecast the results would dissapoint! ... just didn't see the takeover panel intervention coming I guess! Funnily enough I might see Matt Moulding in the gym this morning as he's a Sunday morning regular.
Fort sums up my opinion on Fridays rns, the optics of putting this news out last thing on Friday are terrible and tell you everything you need to know. 'Fast and smart' Bob... remember - get the hell on with it! C
On the subject of big data and its relevance on modern international relationships, warfare and thus markets, listen to this interview to see how it has a primary role to play in the weponisation of commodities and currencies we are now starting to see play out. It's a fascinating and very credible interview;

The answer to spotting important ripples in big spaces is BigData. Enjoy. C
'81. Thanks - and what's a 'full curb' for those not in the know?
Can you also confirm you also fo by the handle @Hubishunter on Twitter? ... Would be nice to conclude my little but of pattern of life and sentiment analysis works ;-) Big data really is fascinating. ATB, C
'81 ( Hubris?) ....Intreagued to know more about the 'full-curb' and what the heck 'routable' means to IT guy if you could?
Now we're getting to the point of this board.
( if you could answer in a tone which you would address, say your dear nana whom you love dearly as opposed to your normal tone that would be a good start to the day. )

I'd have said 1 to align with the 'cabs off the rank' analogy, but one of our major shareholders in WI has stated 3 on a number of occasions now. Scott was also very keen to stress there are no more licence blocks being granted by the Ecuadorian govt now, so that too adds value and the Chinese know this.
3 for me.
There's no doubt WI has an inside track thanks to his long standing relationship with Big Bad Bob, and yet again he's on record today saying he hopes to realise his investment in SOLG in order to capitalise on the next metals supercycle he feels we are at the start of.... and remember 'the numbers are big'. For me fair value with recent dilution sits at 68-72p, but like Fort says there ain't many assets like this on the shelf so you just never know. My only concern would be others would be put off entering the ring if they perceived there were higher powers in play thanks to obvious Chinese / Ecuador state agreements. Funny also in that interview just how strong WI opinions are on Covid, environmental warming and the general woke society we now live in, remind you of anyone?
Best wishes to you all. C
Hey DaKat, for me, news events I'm looking out for over the next few weeks are:
1 - Signed free trade agreement between Ecuador and China. ( provisionally agreed late Feb, just with the lawyers and translators etc..)
2 - SOLG announce exploitation and investment protection agreements Signed with Ecuadorian authorities. ( these are well underway as per Scott's interview a few weeks ago )
After that, we're on the grid, ready for lights out.
Last chunk going in mine and the wife's ISAs over the next few days, then trading reserve at the ready for when the first bid lands as the first bid won't be the only bid. All IMHO.
Have a great long weekend all. C
1981... just go back and read your posts. The negativity is astonishing and all your posts seem to do is criticise others who have a positive outlook on this company. There has been plenty to get frustrated about in years gone by granted, but finally we've got the money men in charge to get this sold 'fast and smart'. The clouds are parting and the sun is coming out my bitter friend - cheer the f%*k if you are capable? Major shareholder have been saying for the last couple of months 'were trying to sell it now to the Ch...' and 'Scott knows the plan' and if that isn't enough, it's bl%%dy obvious the company is being stripped for a sale. So maybe, just maybe, others see the writing on the wall which you can't as your so bitter. Fort, Bubble, Red and others will be wrong every day, until the day they are right and on that day I bet you never post under your sh**t3 1981 monica again as you will be to embarrassed. I either bet your 55, still a virg1n and live with your mum or you ex-wife ran off with the gardner, either way there must be a good story behind your constant bitterness towards other. Cheer the f@#k up or do one. C
Jog on 1981. Member since December 22... we can all see though you luv so might as well save yourself the effort. Do one. C
Not wanting to be drawn Kat as I'm above squabbling with anonymous trolls on the net, but I can categorically correct you on your brainwashed view the UK Army is a 'joke'. Granted, our numbers aren't what they used to be, however I know plenty of ex special forces commandos who are currently out in Ukraine and I'm told it's 'like taking candy from a baby' fighting your poorly equipped conscripted young men. If our forces are such a joke, why did Klitschko turn to our ex-sas commandos to help, and continue to pay them thousands each week to be out there panning your lads asses. Sincerely, I hope your country comes to see your regime for what it is and put a stop to this waste of life and energy.
Back to SOLG.... Bittersweet this rise - I've got 40K on one side to add another chunk to the pf, however waiting till the new tax year. Strong finish bodes well. Have a good week all. C
DBW..... 'whole site is undergoing a revamp'.... hopefully it will look a lot like BHP, Jiangxi, Mitsui, Newcrest's website soon :) Have a good day all. C
I know Scott's option package seems excessive as he's effectively just been handed 1% of our company on a plate, but I know from personal experience commercials are a dirty business and everyone is out for themselves.... especially someone in the twilight of his career who wants one last pay day. However, there's no doubt his interests are now aligned with my own and its in his best interests to get top $ for us all.
One things for sure though, they have to now get this done before the next AGM or there will be blood on the streets.
Circa 275 days till the next AGM, crack on fellas, you've just set yourselves a deadline. C
'Lots of due diligence is required'. There needs to be an interested party for this statement to be true. We're all just guessing here as there has been very little said by the company and Scott Caldwell played a straight bat at everything at recent pr events, but my take is We're fairly well down track with an interested party and the nerds and lawyers are thrashing our thr detail. Still think end game is a while away but getting closer. All IMHO. C
