Some great commentary on Gold & Copper in this Jay Martin interview from earlier this week...
https://youtu.be/8PJUN32CAws
'Global copper inventories got down to 1.8 days' only a couple of weeks ago. Gold only going up thanks to $ decline.... fundamentals looking very strong for SOLG.... I still think we need to see those investment protection and exploitation agreements signed before anything significant happens. All the best. C
My expectation of the next rns's is that they would be to do with the explotation and investment protection agreements that they have been negotiating with the Ecuadorian government for the last few months, which hopefully aren't too far away from being agreed.
Seems like they have plenty of preproduction activities under way in readiness for whoever the 'mine builders' end up being. I still see some sort of corporate action being a few months away yet, but still, that's one last chance to top up the isas before hopefully a decent pay day later this year. Bit more patience required yet IMHO.
Have a good weekend all. C
I too wouldn't mind if you qualified 'sources' Fort, however I would ask in such an abrupt and discurtious way as 1981.
1981. The fact you always articulate yourself in such a manner on an anonymous BB tells me everything I need to know about you. Have a think hey? C
I've got an order in for 100k and it's taking an age to go through.
Not £1.32 or 55p by Friday that's for sure. I'd settle for the steady eddie 16 to 18p range again from last November-December right now. Jesus, and to think we hut 41p last April! #eyeroll
and 'on to step #3' of the 3 step process ... apparently :)
Not sure I like the tone of some of the posters who have turned up here recently, very aggressive and disrespectful give we've all got a shared objective. I guess the low sp can't be helping and stresses people out. If that's you then maybe you've not got the minerals for this and premium bonds are more your thing?
Each to their own I guess.
Good luck next week to all of us who have remained polite and good natured regardless of your view point. Life's too short to get annoyed or bully people on anonymous bulletin boards. Enjoy. C
Talking of interesting articles, I referred a good friend of mine who is interested in investing in Solg back to this article as its still one of the best and most recent accounts of how the next chapter may unfold. Obviously, now Jiangxi have thrown their hat into the ring since and the China / Ecuador bilateral agreements on trade have in all liklihood positioned them as prime contenders. Anyway, its worth another read a couple of months on ...

I beg to differ covgaz, it's never been less of a gamble at any point since the covid lows.
More confident add.
Sp is rubbish and is no reflection of the value of the company, just a reflection of management performance over the last few months. Thank the lord Scott Caldwell is starting to put things right and I personally found Fridays RNS refreshingly honest. Whilst the last couple of months have been frustrating, I personally believe the direction of travel is locked in and its now just a question of patience and belief in the new management to do what they say they are going to do, and reward all shareholders for their backing of Solgold.
We all believe in the asset, the outlook for the asset and the fact that the money men in charge want to move on as much as we do, so have a great weekend all and try and forget about your average buy price of this share as it will be a distant memory sooner or later. ATB, C.
New solg shares issued on merger completion cancel the current short position, so any buys are nothing to do with short covering. Tik tok yawn... have a good one. C
I think this debate stems from a post from ShareMarket @ 15.48 yesterday BN.c
Whilst there has been lots of strong opinions expressed in recent days, it nice that most of them centre around pending corporate action, timescales, the perplexing current sp and the final price and what happens next. How far we have come as most see an end game in sight, even if for some that is later on in Q3 / 4.
I've reflected on most of what has been written in recent days, however my thoughts keep coming back the Warren Irwins comment ( paraphrasing ) 'the sp won't recover before we hit Step 3'.
It's obviously unclear exactly what he knows, but for sure he has good relationships with Scott and knows big bad Bob very well thanks to their joint backing of solg way back when after they provided Nick the $ to prove up the discovery. We're all reading between the lines here, but after the next few frustrating days are out of the way until the merger is rubber stamped, we're heading for interesting times sooner rather than later IMHO. Enjoy. C
Good to have you back NitPicker99, love your cuttingly blunt way with words. Fort, like myself you obviously see this board for what it has become, which is entertainment the last 10 days or so now positions are taken and its just a question of running down the clock. 7am starts to get interesting from Wednesday onwards next week when we see what happens to the cgp float back in the hands of solg. Jiangxi buy em and the starting gun has sounded and that's odds on as they didn't buy 155 mil only a few short weeks ago for ****5 and giggle5. The hardest thing to do is nothing in this game. Patience. C
Hey Bozi, thanks for reading my post, replying a bit late after watching United fianlly goe toe to toe with City and come out on top. Great day.
Whilst I take your point on the opening price of any bid and its potential to be 2.5 x the current sp, 44p would still leave most on here unimpressed. What does however remain true for all of us I'm sure, is our collective opinion that 17.68p drastically undervalues our asset and the true value is multiples of the current sp. I respect your viewpoint, but given everything I have researched and been briefed on solg over the last few years, like Rk, I'd rather have a fully committed position right now. Time will tell, however I'm happy with my current risk profile.
Now, time to watch the game all again on MOTD, best pour the wife another glass of wine!
Enjoy.
Thanks bubble, but I only give one about the day we open 250% up once the Chinese make their move, then we are under starters orders for 'The Battle for Cascabel'. When will this be? Well, a fair few posters I hold in high regard say the price will drift up to late 20 -> 30p once the merger is complete and ARB is taken out of the equasion. On the other hand, WI replied to a tweet of mine to say the SP won't recover before we reach step 3, a bid of some sorts. Either way, we won't be at these levels for much longer and I've added another 250k this week after closing other positions to release funds. Have a great weekend all, the trash talk is nearly over and we're on the way to the ring!
My inner pessimist shares your fears Bozi, but now is the time to strike as dollar strength will recede, precious metals are due a breakout, Russia / Ukraine will be resolved by spring, inflation will drop and rate rise fears will dissipate.... then the rebound is on and any chance of taking this out relatively cheap is gone for good. My guess, and let's face it, it is a guess is that based on my working assumption above, first bid will land before the end of the month as the suitors must know this. Even if not, I'm holding as the direction of travel is locked in and the world needs what we have. Let's hope for a strong week all. C
Completely agrees Fort, however the first copper play Mike Henry referenced in a November interview I recall was SOLG when asked about their pivot in mining strategy and that was after big bad Bob publicly winding them up so there must be some interest still. They've come this far and although I think there are higher powers pulling the levers here now, BHP must now be thinking about their options once the Chinese bid lands. Thought it was strange of WI to say we were at stage 2.9 of a 3 stage process a few weeks ago on Twitter, but he's on the inside of this and it's starting to make sense. Not long now... added another 100k on Tuesday for the third final time :-)
Soon. All the very best for 23 all. C
Jeeeeeeezus Aldebaran, glad I'm not spending NY with you! Quietest three days of the year for volume and this tech. is multiple times better than what's currently on the market.... and thus is university professors stating this not sales & marketing people. Let's pick this up again in the NY when we are 70p + and the RNS on the next 6-18 months order book drops. Anyway, who needs the UK Market as this breakthrough will attract a global audience. Fantastic achievement these last few days, but just the foundations of what's to come. C
I've added another 40k to the pf over the last few days. There were senior appointments in the sales and marketing appointments circa 12 months ago now as I presume they didn't expect approval to take this long. Here's hoping they haven't been sat on their hands and provisional orders are lined up now approval has been granted. I expect this to be the next RNS in the NY. Well done POLX, now let's trigger the re-rate. C
If the vote goes our way Friday, I've freed up another chunk of cash to top up one last time. Anyone else doing the same?
Big week. All the best team. C
A couple of people asked WI opinion of the sp performance based on recent revelations...
'SolGold shareholders have suffered through a lot, it will take a lot to earn back that trust. Step 3 might happen before that trust is earned.'
£1.32 seems a long way from here then :)
