Fantastic RNS, moreso given that we do not know what their holding was below 5%.
Some of the reasons given on the Polygon website for investing in companies, certainly resonate with why they would be interested in Synairgen, see below.
"Polygon co-founder Reade Griffith has been a major European Event Driven Equities and M&A investor since the mid-1990s. The strategy is founded on a diversified, catalyst-driven portfolio that exhibits a low correlation to European equity markets. A thoughtful, size-constrained approach allows a focus on more attractive and less-followed opportunities while remaining nimble. These include:
Corporate Restructuring: participation in recapitalisations and balance sheet deleveraging via equity issues
M&A: favouring hostile, cross-border or otherwise complex transactions more likely to be misunderstood by the market
Dislocation: medium-duration, high-conviction trades with significant upside potential
Special Situations: “piggybacking” on corporate activism and/or pre-deal opportunities
This strategy is led by CIO Reade Griffith and Nicolas Dautigny."
Brysoa - great find, and from the small print in the same clinical report
"In conclusion, we showed that IFNß1a, seems to be a reasonable choice for severe COVID-19 patients, due to the excellent safety profile and possible benefits. We showed statistically significant reductions in TTCI for IFNß1a but only numerical reductions for IFNß1b; which might be due to the underpowered nature of our study. We furthermore found that IFNß1a was superior when compared to IFNß1b regarding the primary outcome."
If RL never uttered another observation would it impact the end result?
Hi JoeBass, The alternative is no communication at all from plc's aside from the standard stuff of AGM's/financial statements/dividend payments etc.
I am prepared to give BoDs the benefit of the doubt where they appear to act and say with good intent (that is not lying).
Over the years, many on this BB have met RY and other BoD members face to face and no one had a wrong word to say about them. To date I cannot identify a situation that would make me feel uneasy about my investment and the current state of play, clearly this could come back to bite on the derriere and I will be the first to admit I was wrong). In my personal and humble opinion, RY and the Team have thus far done a satisfactory job in keeping the lights on and progressing the project. They look to have brought sufficiently experienced professionals onboard to take us to the end game.
Personally, and once again in my opinion, I do not believe for one minute they are sat on their hands doing nothing. We know what is ahead of us in terms of deliverables and we also know that CoVid has ripped apart many companies prospects for the next few years. AMC are still in the game and have strengthened their hand through the NRR link up. In my opinion it is inconceivable that there will be only a cursory link between NRR/Glencore/AMC/RY and AH.
Lets have the same chat before year end. Happy to buy you a pint or two if my opinion today proves to be misguided!!!
Not sure at all why peeps won't let this AH/AGM/RY/subterfuge/conspiracy theories/Putin will eventually get us all sub plots lay to rest.
IT DOES NOT MATTER ONE JOT, and will have no impact whatsoever on the eventual outcome. 100% guaranteed.
Andyrp - trial results due any time in 2nd qtr
Some question "What the hell is happening with this project, will it ever be viable? Are the BoD in a permanent state of torpor?" as well as many other unsubstantiated claims. The below is a deliberate cut and paste from last years annual financial statement issued on 26th June. It is a rollicking good read and enlightens precisely where the project was at.
"In February 2019, the Company completed its PFS. This is a significant milestone that reinforces Kun-Manie's technical and economic viability. The PFS is a document of some 650 pages with a sizable dataroom that supports our interactions with third parties who are assisting us in technical areas or who require more detailed information on the project. Access to the PFS and dataroom is only granted under non-disclosure agreements."
In less than three months we will be presented with another comprehensive update and whisper it quietly, perhaps just perhaps we may be much nearer a known and positive outcome. Fast forward June.
Joe Bass, It's Easter mate, take a chill pill.
I sense, and, to a limited extent share your frustrations. But it is a tad naive to seriously believe the BoD are sitting on their hands or milking their situation for personal gain. Have you ever run a business which due to external factors beyond your control has had to stand still for a couple of years? I have. It is equally as frustrating for the company principals as for external shareholders. **** happens and in business you negotiate the hurdle in front of you the best you can.
CoVid has probably cost/lost most businesses somewhere between 18/24 months from business as usual in order to adapt to the new normal (whatever that is going to look like). These are quite simply unprecedented times. Patience (and some) is needed.
Amur is a very simple binary bet, win or lose. No halfway house. If for whatever reason I thought it was going bust, I would sell out immediately. I am quite confident in saying your chances of success in launching any kind of class action against a Russian Company are very, very, very close to zero.
Further evidence from today's RNS that positive progress continues to be made.
This crossover between Carlo Holdings/AMC/NRR looks good and the entree into Australia clearly diversifies what we have. Appreciate peoples frustration with sloooooow progress but we are invested in a Russian company. That is exceedingly brave of us (or foolish). On a scale of 0-10 AIM Russian company investing probably sits at 12!! CoVid has undoubtedly slowed matters down even more. As an investor from 2008, personally I always saw this as a slow burn, bottom drawer, back of the wardrobe, very deep mine investment.
It could just as easily be 29th June!! just saying.
Mr Costs, perhaps you should consider investing in a futures trade based on the tides. You will have certainty that it comes in and goes out twice a day and so guaranteed to reap the "reward".
Its an absolute fact this share price could fall to zero, nothing, de nada. You have no control over this, unless you own lets say 10% of the company.
Pharma 123. Share prices can (and do) fall aswell as rise. This can be for no reason or for some reason. It is quite unreasonable to run moaning to the company because you invested in a company where the value has fallen. What would you do if the share became worthless?
Amurisagogo, might I respectfully suggest you read and review the very detailed and thoroughly comprehensive RNS from 16th February. A rollicking good read and will bring you bang up to date (well, at least to the 16th February) of where AMC is presently positioned. This should assuage nerves and allow you to enjoy a few beers tonight in peace and hope.
Amur Tigers, before embarking on a personal crusade against the Russian authorities, and for the benefit of this board could you please articulate and provide factual evidence to support your stance. I have been an open minded AMC shareholder far longer than most and have a completely diametrically opposed opinion to your own.
Nolosstillsell. Agree with you 200%. It's a bit ridiculous to simply post to second another poster. But that is what I am doing. The AGM matter has been steamrollered and post mortemed so many times it is exceedingly dull to read the very same views trundled out time and time again. From an organisational and administrative perspective it means absolutely nothing. AH, in all likelihood, continues to carry out the very same tasks as he was employed to do.
Radio silence has never bothered me. CoVid has turned the whole world upside down no matter where you are invested. If this drops below 1p per share, not bothered, it has been there before. Back to AMC hibernation for me until xmas 2022.
Wayzgoose.........where do you get the 700 pubs opening from April 12th information? The Marston website states 600.
Owl11 - Outstanding find!!
Would urge posters to visit the site, sign up and translate to English. You have seven days free reading. The complete Article is most encouraging. I have had to read it five times already.
AND "Four other patients in an advanced state of the disease were also treated " on a compassionate basis " with nebulized Interferon (IFN). " They all survived "
AND it is our "friend/ami" Dr. Aurélien Mary again.
what does NT stand for?
Perhaps, on balance I prefer Principle 1. This was updated on the same day in February this year, and note, no mention of short term value. Buckle up and bring along a few packed lunches, if we didn't already know, we have a good while longer to travel.
Principle 1: Establish a strategy and business model which promote long-term value for shareholders
The Board has concluded that the highest medium and long-term value can be delivered to shareholders through the continued development of the Kun-Maine sulphide nickel deposit located in the far east of Russia. The Company will continue develop the project to increase its value whilst simultaneously looking for suitable strategic partners who can assist in bringing the project to production.
MD a couple of errors in your post at 15:17 yesterday
i) AH failed to gain re-election to the Board because of you and me voting/not voting at the AGM, NOT because of the dark forces you allude to.
ii) You and I have not contributed a single bean to AMC. We have NOT ploughed money into the Company. a) If there had been a rights issue/placing and we had been able to participate, your point would be valid b) when we buy or sell AMC shares we are simply passing the value of those shares across to the buyer/seller. It does NOT go to AMC and c) it is possible that you have personally made a loan to AMC, in which case you would have ploughed money into the Company.
Hope this helps. Sometimes on this board contributors just make comments that are plain wrong and that doesn't enlighten the less initiated.
