Guy knows they need to up the DSO tonnage to put them in better contention of a partner / buyer - 8.4Mt alone was never gonna cut it with one of the big boys and strategically speaking, self-delivering @100% has always been a bit of a weak bluff imo. It really is nuts looking back at the gold price graph over different periods, exponentially increasing over the last 10 years - the world has become a scary place (particularly for investors):

6m - 24.05% increase (+643)

1Y - 44.37% increase (+$1,019)

3Y - 79.80% increase (+$1,472)

5Y - 93.18% increase (+$1,651)

10Y - 181.08% increase (+$2,137)

But you know gold is an investor safe haven in times of uncertainty right...? I mean this is really basic stuff.

Yes I’d say that global uncertainty is higher under trump’s 2nd term than it was under Biden’s. Just look at the gold price and US govt bond yield over the same durations. Trump induced weakening of the US.
