RE: Zim2 Dec 2023 12:03
All about marginality. You can do the numbers yourself.
Soma Gold say that they are moving the El Limon mill from the El Limon site to the El Bagre site: they also say that that they will produce 8,000 oz in 2024 and 12,000 oz in 2025.
They have said that their all in cost is in the $900 per oz area and so at current prices the margin is about $1,100 per oz. So multiple out 8,000 x $1,100 for 2024 and 12,000 x $1,100 for 2025. The royalty is 3% and so that works out at $264,000 for 2024 and $396,000 for 2025.
However, that is using their all in cost but what we have is a Net Smelter Revenue Royalty: some of the all in costs would be excluded and so the figures above would be the lower end of outcomes (assuming prices are stable and Soma does what it says it will).
So I would expect somewhere around $300,000 for 2024 and maybe around $450,000 for 2025.
Soma have also said that they expect to incur capex to increase the output for both the El Bagre and El Limon mills: so 2026 and forwards might be higher.
Each $100 rise in the gold price adds $24,000 in 2024 and $36,000 for 2025.
RRR is owed just under $3mil: the first $2mil is paid at the rate of 3% and the next $1mil at 0.5%.
The royalty is paid quarterly in arrears and so we would expect the first payment during May 2024.
There is a deal to be done to buy out the royalty that would suit everyone.
