So one of the issues about taking Mr Lycra off filter is getting dragged into his nonsense world where he makes stuff up and then pretends like it is fact. He also prattles on about stuff about which he has no understanding, as admitted elsewhere on another BB. So yesterday he was prattling on about my being wrong about RRR but this just goes to show his lack of understanding. Willie Sutton, a bank robber, was asked why he kept robbing banks. He replied, "that is where the money is".
Same with DRC, if you want serious copper and cobalt deposits (and some other minerals) you need to be in DRC.
I am in a number of pre-IPO companies with exposure to copper and gold, On has a DCF from last year of about $65m with the move in copper prices that is now about $80m: it should list back end of Q125. I have about 7%. Another one is similar but doesn't have a DCF at this stage but will have a CPR shortly.
We got involved in RRR to fund DRC: we did a CLN. I knew about RRR from another Troll, Mr Tragic, who trolled another company I was in because the two companies were invested in the same asset. I had been in and out of RRR for smallish profits before the CLN.
The following is my view not the RRR's. Looking at Musonoi, we reckoned that there might be circa $11bn of material there. If you look at the history of Musonoi, there were three mines which became linked together as the Musonoi Super Pit. Glencore had the licence to the left and to the right: two of the three from the Super Pit. Without the main Musonoi licence it was impracticable to fully exploit the other two because of hygiene barriers. My view from day one was the that the likely partner/buyer was Glencore and so it proved. Musonoi had been mined down to about 100 metres and then backfilled about 60 feet to stop the illegals. Next the resource goes down to at least 1,700 metres. If you look at the Muonoi licence you will see that not much drilling was done, it certainly wasn't fully drilled out. There were other prospects on the licence which had never been touched. If you look at the map of the other operators in the area around Kolwezi, you will see the whole area is mineralised. Cont...
