Some of you protestors should spend some time doing some research on energy for the UK.
Your head is in the sand. Gas prices at an all time high. Oil demand going to outstrip supply. Energy bills about to increase. The UK has home grown energy under our feet with the likes of BP an INEOS prepared to fund this. Ten of thousands of jobs created for our country which in turn is great for our economy. But no ! You are worried about spoiling a view, not that a wind turbine doesnt do that or a solar panel that relies on the sun. Biden is nuts as a fruit, just look at Afghanistan today. That is all political for lithium and the minerals, of course Europe China Russia all want these Minerals. USA conducted a full geology report of Afghan whilst they were there. USA was supporting the transfer of the Taliban to power 6 months ago. And the TAPI pipeline sends Fuel from Turkmenistan to Afghan, then to ****stan & India. Biden wants Turkmenistan to diversify, it takes the pressure off of China & Russia. Will this pay off ?! Time will tell.

Oh and don't forget old Biden was against fossil fuels and then asks OPEC to increase production.

That is very nice Bezzer and Jim Ratcliffe has an eye for world class assets with a high return.

Ineos and Petroineos have recently signed a memorandum of understanding to be part of the advanced Acorn Project which is Scotland’s first carbon capture and storage. I watched a presentation a while back on the plans for existing pipelines/infrastructure to be used and for the Acorn project to be extended to the Humber and Teesside regions. I am sure Mr Ratcliffe , who went to school locally in Beverley is very aware of the West Newton Oil and Gas potential.

Jim is not bothered by opinions from the likes of greens who chase away investments and therefore stop new technologies being advanced, but is quite the opposite and makes his own mind up.

He does view some of the UK's energy policies as a shambles with coal closing and he sees wind power as an act of god. He shakes his head at shale extraction policies in the UK when rightly so he states that America have drilled millions of wells. Also, he does not understand why we pay so much for gas to be imported either therefore to have a major gas discovery under his own home soil I am sure would really excite Jim. And if anyone has deep pockets, it would be Jim.

Uniper is looking to launch large scale hydrogen production at the gas-fired power station it operates at North Killingholme by mid 2020s. This is very close to West Newton with plans to use existing infrastructure to keep costs down. Ties in nicely for our gas. Plus Aldbrough which is close by too is, one of Britain’s biggest gas storage sites looking to convert to hold hydrogen, under plans being drawn up by SSE and Equinor.

It is like an all inclusive holiday resort of Hydrogen hotels around us looking to take on our gas.

Then we have the Acorn project looking to expand down south.

Hmmm...INEOS , BP .. ??!! Must be front runners for our gas.
