We have to keep in mind the fact that IF this litigation is successful, it will have been funded by lawyers who are working on a contingency fee basis that will absorb a significant part of any award, together with various parties who will have a priority for their fee bases. All this will take a large element of any award. On top on this, it is surely be obvious that the claim at £195m must be at the extreme of any possible award even if it were to be successful.
My guess for what it is worth is that £5m gross might be possible and virtually all of this would be absorbed by fees leaving an only nominal amount for the pref shares.
Don’t get excited by all this …….
