Patel hasn’t put the boot in. Come July, maybe even June, there will be reciprocal arrangements in place with other countries. If Jet2 were flying now then yes she would have put the boot in, but they aren’t and it’s still a good 5 weeks away minimum.
I personally think that early July was a very optimistic date and really expected something towards the back end of July.
As soon as Jet2 can fly again, there will be demand. I can absolutely guarantee you that bookings towards the end of summer and into Autumn are very healthy given the situation.
When things start again, there will be a gradual increase. You can’t just fly 50 aircraft on day 1. Staff need to be phased back in across all areas, aircraft and hotels need to be phased back in, but there is demand and the initial demand could outweigh the capacity to start with.

That’s because they are working on three bad case scenarios with a worst case financial position at the end of it. In no way does it take into account demand. Bookings for the end of summer, winter and next summer are actually very good

No, it’s on the back of the placing which was done with no discount and the placing was significantly over subscribed.
If the investors have absolute confidence to buy £178m of shares in one hit at the current price, the share price will always be rising 10-20% on the back of that confidence.
It may re trace in the next week or so, can’t see it up at £10 like someone suggested, unless there is some significant positive news.

Italy are opening their borders on 3rd June to all EU and Shengen Countries with no quarantine, there are no restrictions, this includes tourists.

Social distancing won’t be the same as we know it now.
Social distancing in the future could mean shielding the vunerable and those with an underlying health condition.
Airports will be the same as tube stations, railway stations in terms of people in close proximity, probably worse on the tube.
People need to realise that we may never get a vaccine for this, business will restart and a new ‘normal’ will be happening pretty soon.

Can you point to where DTG are in real financial trouble ??
There are two airlines that are extremely well placed to get through this, even if there is no flying during the summer.
Those 2 are Jet2 and Wizz, you could also argue EasyJet but there higher costs, exposure to other countries and in house fighting on the board is a downside.
All three are excellent financially and a very strong cash reserve.
Don’t read into companies making use of cheap government money during these times and saving their own cash for whatever else may be round the corner.
