Been going through the detail of the document again today and it really is written in a win/win way for both companies.

On the price of gold at present rates Newmont will be collecting their $100m of deferred consideration within 24 months and that’s only because of the $50m annual cap. This is assuming 10m oz put through Telfer annually. Hoping for more in 2026 when Havieron comes on line in H2, hopefully with a 6 mtpa plan., but that’s still to be confirmed mid 2025.

Newmont seems to have served this up on a platter so they achieve way more than the $475m for the deal in 2 years time if and not a certainty they part with their shares.

Not sure I’d do that if I was them I’d be waiting for 3 or 4 years as the SP then could be massive if Hav is in full flow plus further drill from the bottom of decline to boost the MRE. Imagine if 15-20m oz

Can’t wait to see what the SP element of the deal will be for them. Way more than 4.8p that’s for sure.

To be precise it’s not share price per se, but market capitalisation of the companies, then subject to a GDXJ management adjustment. The market capitalisation has circa doubled since GGP was assigned its percentage weighting.

What the new weighting will be is what we await, but circa double is a reasonable starting position

Perhaps I’m being a bit keen, but I have felt SD was keeps his cash in his purse until all the detail of Hav was sorted out.

Maybe this is another subtle clue that the finer details of finance have now been agreed showing that GGP. Oe have the cash to start reinvesting in the drill bit as well now.
