No fears!!

Will be disappointing if sp did not turn blue by the end of today trading! Cannot think of any good reason for this excessive falls in comparison with other oilies.

Genel Energy
Hot on the heels of a very satisfactory update last week Genel has announced that it is acquiring stakes in two Chevron operated blocks in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. The Sarta and Qara Dagh both offer the opportunity for GENL to participate in imminent production and appraisal respectively and with minimum risk associated.

Sarta has had two wells drilled recently, both of which tested at around 7,500 b/d and the first phase of the development will see these both on production. Genel are paying 50% of the development costs until a certain production level is reached followed by a success fee on reaching a production milestone, at which stage they will own a 30% in the licence, this work is anticipated to cost around $60m and leave Chevron with 50%.

The Qara Dagh licence has had a well drilled in 2011 which tested oil in two zones from the Shiranish formation and here Genel will earn a 40% stake, and operatorship through a carry arrangement leaving Chevron with 40% and the KRG with 20% as at Sarta.

This seems like an eminently sensible deal, certainly one that might have been put together by a COO who spent 23 years with Chevron. The capital profile of the acquisitions fits well with that of Genel and will bring extra cash flow when it is needed. Finally it brings to Genel commercially and technically expert partners on both sides, I agree with the Genel CEO who says ‘the additions to our portfolio are an important step in our diversification strategy, offering a further opportunity for near-term production and cash-generation’. Buying into these assets are exactly what Genel needs to be doing at this time and it looks like a smart move to me.

So far so good but expect far more rise this week and heading to £3 sooner than predicted before
Still very cheap and not too late to buy .
Growing production,growing cash,expansion and acquisitions ,dealing with big boys started.
Debts hardly relevant now and covered by mutliples.
All fundementals are strong and much stronger than most if not all oil company with the same size...BOD delivered and hopefully more good news to come..
What more any investor is looking for ...in selecting a stock to buy.

JL..I check my shares daily and I also set targets when to sell if the share drops certain percentage and also sell on the cockroach theory! and cut my losses and at times ruthlessly.

Taking profits also when I reach my targets when the share has gone up to a certain target I already set. This works well though at times the share has gone up much further that what I sold like what happened with fxpo when I sold at 170 p but continued to climb to over 300 p after I sold .
I agree the frequency of trading is costly too with this.
Every one has gone through painful times of bad speculation or following brokers tips which I did 25 years back and lost over times again and again ,luckily not a substantial amount as I did not have much then but I never do this now and brokers tips are more likely to be wrong than right.
Dyor and stick to fundementals of the stock. Ignore the rampers and derampers too.
Do not buy on impulse...

And that is a good reason not to sell oil shares now on rising op......and will hit $ 70 soon as all bad news including rising shale declared but the tightening supply and increasing demand will show their heads from now on.
The ones that drop massively recently will rebound far better than others as their profits or demises depend purely on op such as pmo and enq(I hold both).Debts no problem if you can afford to pay it and that is why they are very sensitive to even minor change in op.
G and gkp have great safe margins and they both are solid at a very low cost production but in located in the wrong unstable region of the world though well protected by the big boys there of usa base ,and in G case incompetent bod failed to expand this company or return sharevalue to investors more rapidly and . I sympathise with pi who sold recently out of frustration but maybe too soon. TU was good but some wanted far more. I do not see any problem with a company producing more oil and profits. They are massively undervalued.
I am holding tight both G and GKP and have great hopes for both to cross £3 before end of 1st half of this year.

Only 8% of uk companies export to the EEU which represents only 13% of our GDP and that is why alot of businesses wating to leave.

foodforthought....you are in minority in the referendum and obviously you think the majority who voted Brexit were bonkers! Or even worse stupid because they were naive and cheated by Brexiteers campaign....no sir people like me part of the majority voted on principles that we want to be independent sovereign country again and outside Europe control whatever you your misinterpretation are. I believe it was the biggest mistake that uk joined the EU....we trashed our history,our culture,our self reliance,our believe in our abilities and inventions ,and what we got from EU..flooded with immigrants with open door policy by Tony Blair, sucked the benefits system by foreigners who paid nothing towards the system,overcrowding our schools and NHS and GP surgeries,housing shortage ,with inflated housing markets that our young people cannot afford to buy,taking jobs from the british people with their cheap labour offers,disharmony in our society and increasing organised crime and some towns are no longer recognised due to sudden huge immigration influx..they became foreiners in their own country!
We lived and flourished before joining EU so why we cannot do this after we leave?
We want our country,our laws,our borders and sovereignty back and trade with the rest of the world as well as with EU..I cannot see anything wrong with this.
Out of EU is a better choice...short term pain maybe but long term gains should be the aim for our future generations.
Stop this false economy and low self esteem and back to our history and human strength and believe in Britain again.
Hard Brexit and no deal are not disastrous either.
May’s deal was terrible and dictated to her by her friends in EU...

Guys...We need to be more patient,
TU is good and like the majority of oilies ..the oil price is essential to push G and other oilies further and further but if you do not believe in op going up then you should look at anther sectors.
The TU confirm healthy companies with growth and exploring other ways to expand its assets and find more ways to improve shareholders value as per rns by G.
There were no bad news so there is no reason to see the sp going back to 170s and minor day to day fluctuations are the nature of investing in the market.
Keep positive and hope the op is rising..
I am optimistic about G and repeat the worse is behind us as I posted here when the sp was in 150s and this was recently and since the sp has risen nearly 30%!

I was in kfc just now to get bargain bucket 14 pieces chicken and then thought the bloody 3 of these buckets equal a barrel oil brent.....this is the real bargain with all the expense and exploration efforts and failure then selling it at the same price of 3 bargain buckets of kfc....damn some body is having a laugh with the op now....surely it worths much more than kfc 3 buckets of chicken!

Totally agree with you JL...we are on the same page here.
PM has to do what the rejection votes want her to do and if the EEU don’t budge then Singapore style would be good for Britain but will take longer time to achieve to copycat singapore. We are different mentality,people and just less than 50% wants to stay in EEU! So to prevent chaos and riots it will be better now to get a far better deal or showing the people here that we are trying now with EEU and if it fails then the other half wouldnot be so angry...
Then we got what we want either way and stay united as a nation with our great history and build our Britain the way we want.
