When my partner and I switched from large equity holdings to property it was in the knowledge that we expected capital gains. If you have multiple properties you have the choice of realising Capital gains or rental income , Either short term /holiday lets/ or a straight sale to those that vacated London and other large Cities. Exiting with large gains never to return. Covid provided such an opportunity. We reasoned many would take stock of their lifestyle within a Covid scenario.

It proved so although prices have now settled back. London prices are still dropping of course.Many recent buyers are in trouble. No big developments anymore that were sold off plan before the foundations were finished!
