Well this morning. In addition to legislation needed to free ourselves from anachronistic asylum laws we need a referendum. One that asks do you want an NHS as it was originally conceived? That works as well in other countries that have adopted it and funded it properly? E.g. Scandinavian countries? Run properly with less admin and more care?

Armed forces fit for purpose and well equipped? Pensioners properly looked after? .and most important. Will you pay for it. To have a country to be proud of again, will you pay another 2p in the pound tax?

Those that can pay more should.

My guess is that a majority would say yes. But would want guarantees!

you are forgetting we exist in an environment overseen by the most incompetent corrupt government I have ever witnessed .I was born in 1954. For pure stupidity, it has never been excelled. They just do not understand what they are doing or the effect their policies have on ordinary people. The latest farago masked by Rayner's efforts at cheating the Revenue is their attack on young farmers funding! They have bashed the old like all farmers were earning a fortune now attacking the young.

Multiple personnel should be touring the haunts of the illegal migrants in France with posters in multiple languages stating quite clearly that paying bandits to illegally enter the UK is a serious offence and no one doing it will be EVER allowed to stay in the UK. It could also remind these mostly economic migrants that genuine refugees must seek asylum in the first Country they arrive in . Stuff international conventions, these illegals ignore them!

Every body that makes it ashore should be housed in Tents and Camps in isolated areas and confined. Use Army personnel if required. They will be safe there...I mean that's why they are here right?. They can stay there until removed. Revive Rwanda.

Once it becomes clear on the French Coast there is no "nice life" for illegal boat entrants the business model is shot.

Really is that simple. Also remove all legal funding for migrants here. Afterall they chose to give their money to bandits.
