Wonder if the SP fall from todays highs anything to do with todays RNS detailing the large Director share sells just after Final Results? David Oldfield sold 2,951,496 shares in 3 tranches on 23rd February, and Stephen Shelley sold 2,742,610 shares in 2 tranches on 23rd February.

Lloyds do not hold the cancelled shares in Treasury. It is explicitly stated in the RNS on 23rd February which announced the start of the buyback, and every Transaction in own shares RNS issued since then......" The Company intends to cancel the shares it purchases through the programme."

The shares are cancelled after bought back. Last year there wer 4.5 billion shares bought back. There were around 800 million shares issued so the net figure for the year was around a reduction of 3.7 billion shares.
