So if you have a £800k pot and invested in shares to get a dividend of £56k a year and are also drawing down 4% of your pot every year for £32k, then will your dividend income not go down every year as you will have to sell some of the shares every year to fund the drawdown?

The 1.6p final dividend has got feck all to do with it you pra-t. That has been declared and has gone x-dividend and is already factored into the SP. The fact is the SP would be higher than it is now by the amount that has been spent on buying back 10 billion shares.

But it would not be based on the current market cap! Because the market cap would be higher by whatever the sum that was spent on the 10 billion shares was. lti should be one of the candidates on Talk TV for "plank of the week"! lol
