Another thing to remember... HODLING is high risk, whether you like to believe it or not. No one knows what value bitcoin will be in the future. If it rises as we expect the company will grow exponentially but if it crashes the company will be worth barely anything.

HODLING will tie us even closer to bitcoin as we won't have the cash in the bank, we will be relying on the future bitcoin price far more than we were before.

For goodness sake the amount of stupidity on this board is getting a bit out of hand. It is very simple. After months and months of constant appreciation bitcoin has stalled. Most of us are quite content and see it as a period of stabilisation but of course it could be the start of a downturn. Until it is clear what direction is going those mining bitcoin are not going to see huge share price appreciation.

What is so difficult to understand? A company's value is based on future earnings, if there is fear of bitcoin falling future profits will be much lower, in the case of bitcoin they could be near zero.

Looking at your post history noggers I'd be surprised if you held any shares (long) in the first place.

It's quite obvious to be honest, the bitcoin price. It looked like today might be the day it pushed on again but instead dropped 2-3% - I suppose some investors sold fearful of a further fall in bitcoin overnight...

Notice how everyone moans when arb rises less than RIOT & MARA but don't comment when it falls less than them? Riot down nearly 5% and Mara 8%.

Although we'd all have loved to see the share price push on from the 140s at least now there's an obvious support at £1.10 and hopefully shouldn't be too long before we see this moving back up towards 150. Plenty of readouts to come this year and anticipation should start to build now the final results are behind us.

Tempted myself but did buy a few more in the 140s the other day - going to be an interesting month that's for sure!

Don't care what anyone else says, the fact that the share price has held in the 240s despite the sideways movement in bitcoin is a v good sign. If bitcoin starts moving again arb will rise far quicker, that's for sure.

There is no guarantee of a sustained rise following a nasdaq listing, there is a guarantee of at least a strong, sharp spike though. If there's any chance it's going to happen you want to be in this pre announcement...

What's the relationship between zcash mining and bitcoin? I know we convert zcash coins into bitcoin so the bitcoin price long term is the most important but is there a breakdown of what sort of percentage is zcash and what percentage is bitcoin at current prices?

That's true but anyone now staying invested with that attitude is most likely going to be disappointed. Unless bitcoin starts increasing at the rapidity that it has for the past six months the share price won't surge like it did before. Of course it's possible but the majority of us don't expect the next six months to match the last - i.e $180000 a bitcoin by October.

As much as we all want to get rich quick it's much healthier to see the value of bitcoin rise at a much more gradual pace. Institutions are looking at bitcoin as an alternative to traditional investments, they know that anything appreciating at the pace that bitcoin has been is unsustainable. Your average stock market return is around 10% per year, if bitcoin can do 30%+ for the next 5, 10 years then that will be an excellent return compounded.

We all think of house prices as growing fast but the average growth per year is just 5%.

It's going to be very interesting to see what novacyt have up their sleeve that is non-covid related - the market needs a glimpse of what the future holds but right now there's just so much covid-related opportunity that it must be hard to think much beyond the here and now...

The actual share price means absolutely zero by itself, it's only relevant in relation to the number of shares issued.

I'm positively pro Graham but I don't think quarterly trading updates would be too much to ask given the circumstances - leaving shareholders to completely guess how things are going during an extremely unprecedented period is a little poor in my opinion.

Voleon have reduced their short considerably over the past week, chance that this rise is hedgie driven.

Selling at 103p is madness but equally I'm annoyed I didn't load up more at 105 after umming and ahhing. Average is 118p but yesterday was quite the opportunity, even if just for a short term trade.

Stop whinging. If bitcoin keeps rising ARB will keep rising, simple as. Maybe not within two minutes but it will follow (and maybe start to lead again).

But I do agree, having stated that he was shorting SNG it goes beyond healthy balance into a sadistic attempt to create fear and disharmony.
