Yes correct, drilling to re-start Monday, the excitement should start to build as we approach the target zones with oil shows as they drill.
Looking very good, 27 successful commercial wells drilled to date.
A successful drill will transform this company both in market cap and via the share price.
A buy out would suit most people, but the consortium may decide to drill an appraisal well/s to increase the value of the blocks.
There will be plenty of opportunities to de risk if that is your thing or hold for substantial gains on the successful drill.

Very confident of first oilshows towards the end of next week.
Drilling to restart Sun/Mon at 500ft day. We should intersect the first target which is the seebea at the end of t week. Quickly followed by the main target the Nanushuk and finally the Torok.
All positive here for a commercial well with multiple stacked proven targets to aim at.
Excellent risk reward ratio and oil discoveries all around us and same 3D anomalies with huge horseshoe discovery next door to us.
Whats not to like about the Winx prospect.
We will no doubt have the normal doomongers and trolls next week trying to install doubt and negativity among the genuine holders with there alterior motives, but as ever do your own research and take in all of the positives.

maestro, i hope that on a commercial success at Winx, rmp do sell up for a huge profit. But the consortium may decide to drill an appraisal well to increase the resource size and value of the blocks and rmp may want to participate, who knows.
But what ever happens rmp s share price will be far higher ;-)

wjmflp, this is an exploration company and takes time to come to fruition. You really should not be in 88e or indeed aim if you do not understand the risks.
We all know that the 88e share price would be far higher if ice 2 had flowed as planned, unfortunately it did not. But we will have another chance at that hopefully this year.
Dw was very astute in quickly diversifying and acquiring an excellent prospect like the western blocks and the Winx drill, we have a farm in due to land any time and also100% of Yukon gold, which i think will be an excellent prospect.
I think the next 12 months will be transformationial for 88e , its investors and of course the share price.
We have much to look forward to but If you cannot see where this is going and it is effecting your health and daily life, you should sell your holding and put it in a bank.

The consortium led by 88e were very fortunate to acquire these blocks. 88e needed to diversify from the unconventional and could not afford to drill there own huge conventional acreage without the help and financial clout via a farm in from a tier i partner, which is now close to fruition after months of negotiation with multiple parties.
Great bear were in financial difficulties partly due to not receiving rebates from the Alaskan government. The blocks had to be drilled by May this year with and great bear could not afford a single drill on there own.
The consortium were thus extremely nimble and quick to get together and acquire the lease for a relatively small outlay for each of the consortium members.
All three recognised was great prospect this would be, backed by modern 3d, very close to other large commercial discoveries, with easy infrastructure to processing plants within a few miles, it was ideal for all three.
With an estimated 400mmb of oil to aim at via the Winx prospect, multiple stacked target with proven oil formations in the seebea, nanushuk and Torak sands to further increase the chances, it was a perfect prospect with a great chance to succeed.
A few months later and we now drilling that prospect.

Hi Guys, a nice steady rise today, we should now be drilling ahead at a rapid pace on this shallow drill ready for casing.
We may have a news update on Sunday/Mon on the asx to confirm all is well at Winx, please pardon the pun lol.
We should see a nice steady increase in volume from tomorrow, hopefully we should have news of first oil shows towards the end of next week.
We may also hear news of the Pikka c drill not far from our block, which is now drilling and should be near target depth. Pikka B has already been confirmed as an oil discovery in January.
Yet another commercial discovery near our acerage will bring even more confidence of a successful Winx drill and improve sentiment even more.
I added a few more today, and looking news next week.
All my research in my own opinion points to a successful drill with a very good risk/ reward ratio, but as ever do you own research and ignore the trolls who preside on these boards.

maestro1, you are correct that part of our acreage is not covered by 3d. There could be a potential significant increase to our proven reserves from that area if we have a successful Winx drill.
Oil search are spending big in the area, bill Armstrong also thinks there is far more to come from the nanushuk in unexplored blocks.

The Nanushuk is the main and biggest target, but i am also very confident we will get oil from two or even all three targets. The Torok play is a stacked play in its own right.

So we have the first target, the seabee with sands up to 40ft thick and the last target, the Torok with up to 500ft of sequence of stacked multiple targets.
Then we have the prolific naunshuk as the main target in between.

They'll get a better idea of the reservoir's deliverability of any moveable HC's post-testing as in how many BOPD flowed. Next update should b about reaching casing point, running casing string, waiting on cement & then preparing to pressure test the BOP.

For now Logging while drilling tool that sits just behind the drillbit should start to relay any inherent change in the drill mud's property if light oil is present in the formation at their prognosed depths. This should b verified by oil shows from the cuttings & increase in gas readings of C1 to C5 on the gas chromatograph. This basically tells u that HC's r present. What one needs here is commercial & movable quantity of HC's which is confirmed from the WL logs & fluid sampling. Hope this helps.

Its a shallow well with the proposed TD around 6500ft. Next stop is casing point at 2500ft. Should run 9" casing unless otherwise.

They've switched to the LWD assembly which should give a realtime view of the gamma & resistivity readings as they drill ahead.

Estimated target is around 4900 feet at which point they'll do run wireline logs & conduct MDT fluid sampling. MDT basically helps to suss out the permeability, drawdown, fluid quality etc. Post TD they'll run full suite of wireline logs etc. GLTA.

Maestro, although the nanushuk is the main target, i am very interested in what the Torok holds.
The Torok sands are up to 500ft thick and could contain a very nice oil bearing column within that formation.
All three targets are proven oil bearing formations on the north slope of Alaska.
It would be fantastic to hit good quality light oil in all three of the target zones with a really good flow when testing.
It will be a very exciting few weeks that is for sure.
i would think that Armstrong, ConocoPhilips, Repsol, Oilsearch and all the other big boys all around will be watching this drill with great interest

480 feet of Nanushuk sands were cored. That is a fair old column.
More positive news from the pikka b sidetrack and a successful pikka c drill will only increase the value of the north slope acreage.

jndavid490, maestro was indeed correct. Oilsearch, Repsol and Armstrong consortium are presently drilling 2 appraisal wells testing the Nanushuk formation.
The first Pikka b was drilled with yet another commercial success, this well is now being sidetracked.
Pikka c was spudded on 23 jan 2019 and news should be due anytime.

Cretaceous Brookian Sandstone (Nanushuk). The objective of Pikka B is to constrain the potential resource volumes in the field.
During the month, the Pikka B well penetrated the target Nanushuk Formation and encountered hydrocarbons, in line with pre-drill expectations. Coring and processing of 146 metres (480 feet) of Nanushuk 3 sand and six open-hole logging runs were completed successfully. Early interpretation of the cores indicates a hydrocarbon-saturated, high porosity sand.
After drilling to a total depth of 1,476 metres (4,844 feet), the wellbore was plugged and abandoned, as planned, and a side-track kicked off.

Cretaceous Brookian Sandstone (Nanushuk). The objective of Pikka C is to reduce uncertainty on well deliverability by drilling a “proof of concept” development-type well.
Drilling commenced on the Pikka C well on 23 January 2019 and at the end of January, was at a depth of 675 metres (2,215 feet). Surface casing was set and cemented.
The forward plan is to drill through to the Nanushuk formation, evaluate, then drill a side- track to build a lateral section in the reservoir. The well will then be completed and flow- tested.
