Sounds like you know your gravy Hbob. Mine is similar but try putting an onion a carrot and a swede in the bottom of the roasting pan with yer meat. At the end of cooking take these out and blend with the juices in a mixer. Makes the thickest tastiest gravy ever. Its real man gravy.
