I'm surprised we havent seen more upwards movement in the share price since the two recent RNS. Awacta are close to having what will probably be one of the fastest selling products on the planet, with no notable competition and no indication of any reason for failure.
How often does an opportunity come along with this level of risk vs reward?
I think this is going to be massive. In some ways, it might be a good thing it's taken a bit longer than most of us anticipated.
A few weeks ago, it seemed like everybody thought Covid was gone in the UK/Europe... autumn was a way off and people are short sighted in my experience. Most investors in Awacta are probably in the UK and people seemed oblivous to the exploding new case count worldwide.
BLM out the news and Covid back in as the main stories... growing fears of second wave in Europe etc. Having to wear masks will no doubt be keeping it more in peoples minds too. I think we might get a much more significant rise now than we wouldn've got if the big news had landed three or four weeks ago...
Just my thoughts, possibly complete rubbish - but lets not forget how much sentiment can move a share price.
The website is terrible, much like Medusa 19. That doesn't mean it's fake though.
The company is legit - as per companies house. Very promising indeed.
I'm not sure whether this is something Awacta will RNS though, as it's something being done by a third party?
Should be fine!
Only thing is that where I'm going is so remote there's no 3g/4g phone signal and internet is very poor, so not ideal from an investment perspective (albeit with a virtually 0% chance of catching Covid!)
Couple of weeks later but not essential if can't do it. Was talk of closing France/Spain border, might have to take the SS Rustbucket back from Santander. Could be interesting!
Not going near any towns or cities, I'll be at considerably less risk out there than going about my normal day to day life in UK so not remotely bothered about Covid, aside from travel issues...
It's genuinely concerning that we're all looking at the numbers and thinking there's only a very small number of cases each day in the UK at present, but actually we have asbolutely no idea beacuse the sampling is sh*t where the public are sat in the their cars in car parks trying to swab themselves.
Well the companies doing the PCR testing are going to have to be pretty quick about making saliva the primary sample method if they want to keep doing well!
The options are significant discomfort or the risk of false negatives from poor swabbing. Therefore PCR will be mostly redundant if they continue with the nasal swabs after easy sailva tests are available.
Okay, controversial clickbait title! But I really do believe this is going to be the case (expect for in hospitals).
We've all known for some time that poor swabbing can give false negatives. This is very dangerous because those who are infected will think they've got some other bug and go about their business spreading the disease.
We know that the PCR machines are highly accurate, I do not dispute this. The problem is that if you put a poor quality swab through the machine it doesn't matter how good the equipment is.
Earlier this week one of my staff said her daughter had a cough and she was going to go with her to the local testing station in Portsmouth. She didn't know how long the result would take, which of course meant she couldn't come to work until it was received.
Two days later I had a message to say it's negative, all fine. Nice and quick - great, back to work.
I saw her yesterday and asked how well her daughter coped with it because they're very unpleasant or even painful. She said it was fine and she did them both herself. I was amazed by this.
Getting to the point here... what happened is they arrived at the testing station expecting to be swabbed through the window by somebody (like we've all seen the photos of no doubt), but this isn't what happened. They were given two testing kits and told to get on with it.
I've got a photo of the instructions and it reads as follows "Put the swab into one nostril until you feel a slight resistance (about 2.5cm or 1 inch up your nose). Rotate the swab for 10-15 seconds and then remove it."
I was amazed by this, as my understanding was that a good swab needs to come from the back of the nasal cavity. Of course, difficult for somebody else to do, let alone yourself or a child.
This lead me to some Googling and articles such as this (yes, this one is the Daily Mail I know, but it's actually a good article) shorturl.at/ezBDR
New case numbers in the UK are very low, but this is hardly surprising if my staff members experience at the testing station is representative of the rest of the country.
So why might this nonsense be happening? Well, another controversial comment here perhaps - but my guess is that the Government are turning a blind eye. They've been making a lot of promises on testing numbers and continue to talk about it's importance. Now... the problem is that no matter how good your capacity to run tests... if nobody is turning up to the stations because it's incredibly uncomfortable or painful... you aren't going to have a hope of meeting your targets.
I know there's not much excitement about BAMS, but if it's able to overcome this problem by running easy to take saliva samples it's going to have a massive impact IMO. It's also shows how important the LFA is (although I think we all agree on that anyway).
Maybe posted already, but from Bloomberg:
"Recovering from Covid-19 may not offer much lasting protection from future infections for those with only mild cases, according to a report that suggests caution regarding so-called herd immunity as well as the durability of vaccines."
This is great news!
Seems there's a few people who are upset it's not the big LFD RNS, however, anybody who has been in this share for some time would have known the next RNS we expected would be on BAMS. This is playing out EXACTLY as expected.
It's also brilliant that we've got the BAMS RNS before LFD, as it should give the share price another leg up in readiness for what I expect to be an incredible re-rate.
And I bet a lot of that Synairgen money will be pouring in here... I've added some more with my profits and I bet others will be doing exactly the same...
