Long term outlook effecting SP16 May 2022 00:15
Seems true that there is a lack of institutional buying and why wouldn't there be. The fact there is pent up demand and the airline is pulling in more revenue really isn't the point. These guys aren't buying to get out at £1.80/£2.00 . The majority who have exposure to pensions etc are looking for growth long term and continued growth at that. Looking at the bigger picture i.e rising inflation, rising interest rates the war in Ulkrane and Covid will still cause problems. Yes, the average Jack and Jill has accumilated some dosh over lockdown (if they are lucky) but after they have spent some/all on a lovely trip to wherever as the doors turn to manual and they step off the plane they are left with larger bills right across the board. What will they cut back on? Holidays? a new car? shopping at Sainsburys and not M&S.. Who really knows. What I do know is the continued feeling the pinch factor will be here for a while. Now before I'm accused of deramping , yes I hold stock here and yes north of the current sp. Let's all hope for better days and sooner rather than later. Did I mention the R word?
