It looks like Yancoal want to extract some more coal from their newly acquired Hunter Valley mining operations. In today’s Singleton Argus there is an advertisement stating an Exploration Licence (EL) has been lodged by Mount Thorley Operations Limited – owned by Yancoal. The Chinese miner bought Mount Thorley Warkworth and Hunter Valley Operations from Rio Tinto in September 2017. Yancoal also operate the Ashton undergoing mine near Camberwell. The EL covers an area of approximately 1992 hectares, nearly 5000 acres, located 1.3 kilometres west of Singleton. According to the map supplied in the advertisement the EL runs from Broke Road, adjacent to Putty Road then across Wallaby Scrub Road and then onto the outskirts of the Bulga village. As Yancoal are seeking to have Wallaby Scrub Road closed for the expansion of their neighbouring Warkworth mining operations the EL appears to link the two open cuts. A Yancoal spokesman said the company was considering all options for the continuation of operations at Mount Thorley.

I honestly don't want him to lose it. He's stuck with it for a long time, I hope it comes good, but none of them can see the risk. We should be helping each other, not ramping the sh##e out of it.

The official stance for the success of icewine 2 is 50/50. But with regard to where this lies on a scale of 10 may have been taken out of context. I believe the author of the post was referring to investing in a speculative penny stock. This type of investment, regardless of how positive we are on its outcome, is very very high risk. The drops from 4p twice should have taught us this. We just cannot predict what the market will do, but if it flows at a level that industry can't ignore we will be ok. If not, it will be brutal.

AIM4, yes, I knew the answer. Free ride means initial investment is already safe, the only risk is to profit. That risk is entirely different to investors who are currently underwater. Officially, icewine 2 is 50/50

If your average is under 1p, or if you are lucky enough to be on a free ride (fully derisked) is your risk more, less or the same as someone with an average above 3p?

At last, a touch of reality and a bit of balance. If this hits 4p before flow rates there will be some here literally sitting on hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of profit. Believe it or not, I don't want to see anybody lose it but for those that don't derisk, if news is stella they deserve the rewards. I just wish some would take some off the table because this could become volatile over the coming weeks.

Stalin, big fortnight coming up starting next week. Last stage of treatment. Money would be nice but not my real focus, just a passing distraction now. Would be nice to recoup losses and is a possibility if good flow results and good market reaction. Time will tell, regardless of anything written here.

It's not advice. It's a fact. Profit turned into more profit. You do realise 88e isn't the only opportunity on AIM do you? You asked why sell? I gave you an example of why people sell. It may not be your strategy, it may not be the right strategy, but it is a strategy none the less.

Jiddy, in answer to your question, why would somebody sell? I happen to know somebody that recently took profit here and bought another stock for 0.28p last week. Its now over 0.4p to sell. A gamble? Rainbow chasing? Or somebody simply spreading the risk? I scincerely hope if the profit comes back in it hits 4p before results.

Maybe its because its a different type of investment to what some are used to? But word is spreading, the profile is increasing and when others start to see it rise beyond current levels then they may start to take note.
