Latest placing was very sticky too with significant chunk going it VCT and IIs. Lots of sticky holders on here and various investment groups too so pretty illiquid. Management have done a very good job turning this round from the downturn.

Hi GMAX, your thoughts align with mine. Risk reward appears to me to be very strongly stacked in the favour and management confident they don’t need a fundraise before breakeven.

As usual DYOR, CEO bought a few weeks ago, their accounts I think are expected in July this year, optimistic that they will have patent granted for their opti tech in the USA in next couple of months and we could get an announcement about the USA national cancer institute partnership validation of their flagship technology. Also potential for one of their clients to sign an exclusive licence agreement as they’re in the evaluation window at the moment for their Optiphage technology.

Great news for the sector, mentions drug development as a priority. Great time for FAB to be releasing their new tech when investment high. Hopefully can tap into some of that in the UK market

Step change in revenues isn’t just going to be a few pennies…we’re talking millions here. they hit £4-5m a year before the downturn, that was without their tech platforms that are now online. I suspect we’ll be busting that sooner than we think

Looks like the FMI will be at Bio too as part of the NI delegation! Great to have them promoting too, effectively double the sales team!

I think that Adrian has said before , at the proactive investor event in London, that he does think there is a likelihood big pharma would come in and buy them instead of paying licence fee. Think the video is on YouTube from January last year maybe! Especially at today’s mcap, would be cheaper! Hopefully we can get the MCAP up before that happens!!

Adrian has spoken about using optimal and optional to enhance their ability to secure milestones and royalties and lock in longer term revenues.

Often forgotten but the company has historically done this and has a portfolio of these already at various stages.

They’re coy about it, but, in a video in 2020 the then CEO Paul Kerr gave some colour to this. In the video ( https://www.investormeetcompany.com/meetings/interim-results-presentation-1 at 40 minutes in) CEO Paul Kerr stated:

“We had 10 humanisations in 2012–13… 6 are now in the clinic,”

“We’ve done 100+ more in 2019–20… ~25–26 carries,”

“Some milestones are £100k, others low single-digit royalties on billion-dollar drugs — $10–20m potential.”

He expected first milestone payments from FY21, with more to follow as assets matured. We’ve had a couple of the smaller ones land in previous years I believe.

Yes, there’s inevitable attrition over time but at the time fusion had around a 1 in 3 success rate from humanisation to the clinic. Many of those 25–30+ carried assets could still be active in trials or nearing licensing triggers — this is a 10–12 year lifecycle industry.

We’re now 5 years on from the 2019–20 cohort, and 12+ years on from the early ones — exactly when commercial outcomes typically might emerge.

Fusion’s milestone engine may just be getting started…Would be great to get an update from the Board.

think there was a slip in the language in their linkedin post earlier which they corrected since. they said had been successfully validated. now corrected to demonstrated.

think comes down to fab wanting to have the scientific kudos in published journal which is subject to peer review for their clients to say hey no this really is the **** and it’s been through rigorous process to review. at the moment seems to me that them with nci have proved it works, but they want to enhance the data and get the best publication and evidence possible. how long that takes we don’t know, but it’s all coming together and i think that’s why we’re all keen to see when it does really say validation!!!!

Can’t get access to that post anymore but it def said that! Surprised that wasn’t RNSd on its own given the strategic importance of optimal. Wish they’d shout louder about their successes. Maybe there’s a strategic reason not to who knows

I think we all would dark Ryder, a sprinkle of realism needed on the calendar month perhaps!

But….if they secure the optiphage licence, prove the premium nature of the optimal platform, secure the patent grant, publish a joint paper with NCI in a big journal (why not aim high like Nature) on their global first tech which could save big Pharma tens, if not hundreds of millions, and sign a few contracts, then the sky is the limit.

For most of those, it’s a when not if….
