I'd be careful about assuming 9.441 cents is going to equate to 70p.

It's currently closer to 68p, and the dollar has been falling pretty consistently lately.

Anyway, I'd just like to pint out to those reading Jims' slightly misleading statement that DEC has a hedging policy that is set in stone.

He's obviously choosing not to warn people that DEC has at least once in recent years decided to pay out a small fortune to get out of a bunch of futures contracts - I think at the time they stated that the prevailing spot price meant that buying themselves out of those futures contracts meant they would be able to get a better price and was worth the cost of whatever they were up to.

I'm sure someone's got more time than me at the moment to recall exactly what happened at that time.

Yeah.

Rev, the dividend yield hit 10%+ on BATS last year. Because everyone knows tobacco smokers are dying off and governments are banning their products. It was in the low £20s for a while. Because everyone knows tobacco revenues are going down year after year . Dividend yield is closer to 6% today. Not because they cut the dividend. Quite the opposite. But because the share price has doubled.

Maybe you're getting a bit tired after 60 years of investing.
