A very large short position here. Many have closed below the .5% boundary so short tracker appears to show a dramatic fall off in shorts, but this is misleading, this will just be them falling under the reporting line.. There is still a ton of shorts active here, and I would think, considerable panic... The SP should enter a firm uptrend now to (I would hope as I have bought in today) 180 - 200p IMO.. And this could be a quick ride.. Hedge funds will smell blood here and may look to squeeze their mates...

Have got this one terribly wrong... Should be a strong rebound from here.. They cant pick all the high street casualties and this one looks a winner... The Vet angle is a real winner (and I dont think they get this (the city) ). You cannot take your pet to the vet over the internet. This also drives people into stores.. Very good forward thinking from mgmt here and I think this is a real winner.

It’s an excellent update, confirms everything we know. Another 10,000 bopd at pesh with what looks like another 10,000 to come when the next we’ll comes online.. generating about 350,000 usd of fcf every single day.. they will probably exit 2018 with over half a billion in the bank imo. It’s crazy. They need to do a buy back or dividend imo. They are sitting on too much cash you could argue. It should totally underpin the sp though. Consider pmo. That is valued at absolute 2.5 billion when you factor the debt though. How on earth is pmo worth 5 time genel. Also raw taw starting to increase again which is good. I can see it getting back to around 20,000 bopd...

Fundamentally genel is significantly undervalued relative to peers. At some point that has to change. Nothing bad here at all and genel literally is throwing off the cash.

Hawkey, my advice to you is be very careful investing a company (any company) that has a debt that is about 5 times its market cap....

Expect the unexpected.

PS as per hawkeys comment, Genel are very good at being open and honest but staying within the rules. Despite my negative comments I made clear to Andrew they were not directed "at him" but he is the messenger. He is a perfectly pleasant person and also fair, I like the guy. Previous post should have put DNO should have a small "percentage" stake in the gas project in return for ridding us of our operational cretins....

I contacted them this week for a frank exchange, basically saying, what on earth are you lot doing... I dont post private discussions but I think I am "ok" to say I did not get a satisfactory answer. I made it clear what my views were on the milestones that had been achieved and my view on Genel's input into them. I also drew parallels with other O+G companies in less favourable conditions than ourselves and what they were up to. I also heaped praise on DNO's shareholder centric approach, value creation, and dicersification away from risky assets, while we (for example) move like a snail towards a well in Somalia land (not where I would be looking when our base is the KRG).

The mood music was "bear with us we are working on things". As one would expect these are confidential, I have no idea what they are but the strong impression was that things are happening in the background. I think an acquisition is coming but, clearly it may or may not happen and there may actually be nothing happening...

Lot's of smoke and mirrors.

My strong expectation is Genel board deliver something this year or I will be at the AGM asking for a leadership overhaul.

One suggestion I made.. Somewhat tongue in cheek, is that we should give DNO a 10% free carry on the gas project for them to 100% manage it with their staff and for Genel to do nothing. DNO would manage, negotiate and run the project and Genel could do what they do best and write the cheques.

That sounds ridiculous but I would be very happy to see DNO take over the gas project, from a planning and operational standpoint for a small monitory share. Personally I have no doubt things would then get moving. But we shall see, these are just my opinions...

Agree Shandy, he always quotes numbers where he can find "big" headline figures, but as you say, the Charles and Lee example is likely peanuts.

The fact the does not talk about ST in any detail should seriously concern investors. He loves a ramp and I suspect there is nothing positive to say, else you would have heard it.

First time he said "tax reasons" second time, no reason stated.

Clearly you all know I am no longer invested... And you all know the reasons I sold out.... All of those reasons still hold true for me. HC is not trustworthy IMO so I would be worried about what is not in this statement, not what is.

What is the cash level
If Roots is growing so strongly and the revenue is still off, then where are the big hits falling, I suspect ST
Agree about "other" lines - they are a distraction for a small company, they should have a few rockstar brands and double down on them, not god only knows how many and try and promote them all

And then you have the more personal pieces of information. Is HC going to take another dump into any good news? Past behavior says yes he will. He might not, but evidence suggests otherwise.

I do not think IDP has a good relationship with the city after his antics, so if there is a cash call, it will be very dilutitive, also to reduce his influence I would suggest.

All in all a very, very risky play. Too risky for me, and if I was going to play, you would want to have faith in the top man - some of you may have - I would say it is misplaced.

And finally, what has Kieron delivered? He was supposed to be all over this type of thing, delivery, DTC, making sure the channel message was optimal....

He looks like a dinosaur has been who is no use here. And to cap it off, he will be on a substantial package which will further drain the coffers.

Roots is a good product, I do not disagree with that at all, but its not enough to carry the company, and I suspect 2019 will be the year we see that ST is in terminal decline... Again all these other ST products "beauty" getting released, for me to a point devalue the core offering...

I can see it all being seen in poundland next year but time will tell, I could be wrong....

Growth company that’s now not just stop growing, it’s gone into decline. Kieron clearly doing a great job. This will be absolutely pounded today... can’t trust a word hc says. Pointed to a similar h1, looks like it’s off ten percent to me.

Lemming, I read the 125k as 125k net to DNO, that would put TAWKE PSC at around 140,000 - 150,000 bopd...

And just imagine if our own BOD actually did something with out assets lol....

We should just ask them to step aside and let DNO run the company.

You can see in the way they have taken out Faroe, they are building a great company, they wont be taken to the cleaners and they are all about developing assets efficiently and for the benefit of their shareholders. Our board just sit on their backsides and write DNO a cheque once a month and share in their achievements... I bet if DNO were in charge BB would be drilled and the gas project would be moving.

Not going to share response but I have emailed Genel recently to say I am deeply unhappy with the performance of the leadership team and progress with GENL controlled assets, I have had a polite, but unsatisfactory reply which I have responded to.

I would suggest more shareholders now contact the company and start to ask the basic questions like WTF are you doing 9 - 5 other than writing a cheque to DNO and drilling the odd TT well....

Genel are in a great position, but its got very little to do with Genel.

I know Hawkey thinks they are great, but I think they are in a great position, and if they had a better team we should be way ahead of where we are now....

Shareholders need to start revolting against the current team and telling them, we are not happy, and questioning their (lack) of activity. Its difficult to question their actions as TBH I don't see any to query. If I can make the next AGM I am at the point where I will go just to get this point raised in public.
