Bigeye - I agree people do discredit themselves. The negativity about the BoD I'm afraid is self induced and lack of good information drives it. I have also lost confidence over the years through their lack of investment in shares, which questions their confidence in the long term future of the business. I knew from the start of the journey this would be a hard slog, but it's now been almost exactly two years since we started open cast operations. The buck stops with them and they get paid very well to deliver. Genuinely GLA.

bigeye - ah, it's the old lets try and discredit someone routine. You'll be accusing me of being someone else next. If I had an original holding from when we changed from Gemstone back in 2010 and have then had short periods where I have sold out and bought back in (for whatever reason I might have needed the money) than why does that not class me as a long term holder and as informed (or uninformed) etc as others? If we want to start looking at posting history I did wonder why aerial so quickly responded to me on behalf of you the other day, but surely that would be trying to read something into nothing. Please - let's get back to the fundamental point I am trying to make - if people are happy to continually crow about how successful the custodians of their investment (the BoD) have been despite being significantly down on the value, that's their prerogative but it should not get into the current facts - the BoD has delivered no shareholder value and the last formal figures we had showed we were struggling to get to economies of scale and still losing money operationally. What comes tomorrow is anyone's guess, but a bit of jam in the Interims might be nice. GLA

aerial - the opening paragraph questions my integrity, which I don't like and is actually wholly unnecessary given I've been here as long as you. That aside, my last paragraph stands fast - How much trust can the BoD expect given where we are? They have decimated shareholder value, only really bothered to invest when we were at the lowest possible share price we could be at and fail to keep us informed regularly on our operations. It's not a personal thing here aerial, but taking a step back and reflecting how well this BoD has looked after our investments really doesn't warrant such positive support for the BoD. I don't really see how it can be viewed any other way. And don't forget, these guys don't do it for nothing. Who's money has over many years paid , and at the moment continues to pay, their wages? Shareholders.

aerial - just to help the trolls out - that's not entirely true - (1) No - Edenville could have sold the license, rights to mine etc etc before deciding to mine it and delivered instant return to shareholders and the BoD could have moved on to something new (2) Partly - you need income to be greater than your costs, otherwise, as is our case at the moment, you are cash flow negative, despite having income (3) Not really - I'm not entirely sure you can attribute the income solely to foresight of the BoD building the mine - you discover c170m tons of coal - you don't leave it in the ground - you either do (1) or build a mine - surely that's logic, not foresight? I appreciate your knowledge in here but even I don't quite get your almost constant defending of the BoD - if you gave someone £1000 and eight years' later they gave you back less than £100 and said "don't worry - if you leave it with me you'll definitely get a return on your £1,000" would you truly trust them?? GLA

aerial - I'm not sure I used the word "lies" in my post. There have unquestionably been jam tomorrow RNSs for a long time and the biggest worry is when there is a lack of information which is easily available on a regular basis - production figures, revenues, costs etc. Every company updates their draft P&L on a monthly basis. How many updates have we really had in 2019. The Africa thing is a bit of an excuse now - how long have the BoD been involved over there . The BoD simply needs to deliver its promised numbers. Let's see what the interims say. GLA

aerial - he's told us a lot of things over the years which haven't quite come to fruition so i'll believe it when I see it. Im hoping that there are some real positives in the interims on production, revenue and margin. GLA

seanyj1 - no you haven't missed anything and agree it's something positive especially for those who aren't quite sure of the operational processes. But it is a bit amateurish and with a spelling mistake. Of course the real key is what all those processes result in - numbers. Interims due shortly so I assume we'll see what all the ongoing hard work on site has transpired into. GLA

I'm glad if they are losing out - there's been enough money made by shorters in ITV. Here's to wealth being returned to patient investors. GLA

esquimo - good corporate video and adds to our PR side for potential investors, but little for us current investors. Let's have some numbers Rufus - hopefully interims will give us that. I do wish we would make sure we dont have spelling mistakes in our PR stuff. Hopefully they'll amend it. GLA

Bigeye - although part of that tweet is how I feel sometimes on this board. I'm not getting into individual spats as its coarse and childish and I'd like to think we're all grown up enough to accept others views. But, some of the posting is certainly interesting, and I'll leave it at that. I want one thing here - I want Rufus to update us regularly about cost of sales and revenue so that every investor can understand our operational margin and future. How many tangible updates (with figures) have we really had in 2019. That is a real problem, as it simply intimates that the BoD are reluctant to give us the whole picture. Why? Genuinely GLA.

Rocket - completely disagree. Its 100% my money and 100% my decision where I invest it. If I **** it up its 100% my fault. That doesnt mean I dont do lots of research, talk to people in the know etc, but it's me that makes that decision to part with my cash. There's too much "blame someone else" culture in our society. It is very possible that news of the Interims has leaked over the past week or so given the change in share price sentiment. This has been hammered since they turned down the bid, but I suspect that one or two are still keen on hoovering Spire up. GLA

In all honesty the only person I trust with my investing tactics is me. This is after all an open public forum and the boards all across LSE, advfn, Twitter are littered with rampers, derampers, people with agendas, stone faced fibbers etc, oh and of course the odd one or two genuine investors . The fun is reading some of the posts, as people invariably without thinking and probably even realising give far too much away about their own situation. GW
