Don’t get me wrong here, I’m not having a go at you for forwarding the article but I think the author has written this with no idea how lithium processing works. Confusing DLE with hard rock and at the same time saying DLE is a filtration process shows that this is a cut and paste job. DLE is NOT filtration, it is an adsorption,absorbtion and then desorption process that is chemically difficult and potentially expensive.

The geomet process that was rns’d earlier in the year appears to have tried to mitigate costs and simplied the process. Forget DLE for mica

Can’t read the article for some reason but I’m highly sceptical if DLE would be employed on hard rock. To date DLE has been used for brine and geothermal lithium bearing solutions. To date there are is no largescale DLE production anywhere.

The question however is, have we applied for crma strategic status? After all it was apparent that we would have in all probability been granted it. Naively I thought it was but now I’m not so sure. If not it begs the question why not? Does it mean the fid decision has already been made (no project) hence no requirement for it or do the Czechs have a different plan?

Cez , it would appear have no real interest in pushing this project forward especially if it requires them to to do any of the donkey work. No dfs news for months and then another announcement regarding a total shakeup at the last minute. Any other corporation in any other country or business would have sacked those responsible on the spot for that. I keep banging the same drum. The Czechs for some reason “appear” to be either uninterested in cinovec or openly hostile to it. The 23:59 rns on the site change and lack of any meaningful update on dfs leaves me scratching my head. Snippets of info now appear to be creeping out that the remaining plans for the plant at the original site are also causing problems with the locals/officials. I was told that we had applied for strategic status 6 months ago but nothing official has been communicated at all. The Czechs are either the laziest and stupid people on earth or there is an alternative agenda at play here. My money is on the latter.

News from this week that seems to have flown under the radar. Looks like VW have finally realised they are in trouble. Hubris and arrogance seems to have finally caught up with them. They got rid of Diess a few years ago because they didn’t like the direction he wanted to take them. Now they are perhaps staring into the abyss. They had the chance to invigorate the European EV industry 10 years ago and chose not to. The rest is history…..

This is bigger than lil’ol’ emh. As I alluded to yesterday the whole western car business/governments need to wake up and wake up fast. Mines in Australia are only now issuing news that they going going into “care and maintenance “ mode and maybe that is just the start of it. The Chinese have cleverly manipulated the market by diversifying their raw material supply chains hence driving the price down. In reality they don’t care too much about the waste byproducts and how to dispose of them atm, all they want to do is gain market share and drive other OEM’s into oblivion. Job done.

Having bought a large number of shares in emh (again) these last 2 weeks, a thought came into my mind. Have we (Westerners) been led a merry dance thinking that we still have it wrt engineering,entrepreneurship and leading the way? Are we now playing catchup and if we are, can we eventually move fast enough in order to become a major technological superpower to compete? I’m not talking in emh terms here but undoubtedly it plays a part. The EU for all its talk of CRMA and the need to move quickly seems to be the perfect example of what I’m trying to say. Make plenty noise but hamstring this with endless consultations, meetings and long timelines. Meanwhile, the Chinese get things done, steamroll any opposition and encourage the very people who have a vision on how to move forward.

Compare that with article posted earlier and the energy density is over 800 WH/kg. Hmmmm

Nice article and reiterates what I was saying only a few days ago. If you look hard enough you’ll find articles that back up how you perceive the way the industry might move. In this case the use of Li and Mn is especially interesting from a Cz point of perspective due to them having both. Maybe the geological gods were looking favourably on the Cz republic

That’s just it though, you’re implying they are moving out of lithium completely when in actual fact they are not. It’s horses for courses in this game but please, if you’re going to say anything at all at least try to be truthful. I’ve already mentioned Musks talk on clay based deposits in the US but as usual on here nobody wanted to challenge what I said. Throw enough mud and some of it will stick seems to be his mantra.

Giga, I’ll call your sodium and raise you my solid state lithium. At the same time have a look at your periodic table. Top left near Hydrogen you’ll see you know what. For all the engineering trickery that you are scouring the internet for you will never be able to move any of these elements in the table, not now and not in 10 million years.
